what do you guys think my sahara is worth?

Hey guys, I've got a 98 Sahara in great condition with both soft and hard tops. 5spd, a/c, only 106k adult driven miles. Never off roading or abused. Untouched, all stock. Help!

Two weeks ago we bought a 1999 Sahara 4.0, 5 speed, a/c, 125,000 miles, no rust and in really pretty condition, completely stock. $8800 and we think we did well.

6-10k here, depending on condition. The market is saturated with TJ's here, they're everywhere.

Any frame rust? Being a Maine jeep, those are harsh winters..

Would you like me to post pic for you?

The fenders have a little rust where we have covered with the steel plates. The undercarriage is clean. No rust ay all on the undercarriage or skid plate.

But very clean jeep

A TJ Sahara with tan top and matching tan tire cover? Haven’t seen that combo in a while:

Hard to price your TJ w/o knowing more about the rust but without the rust and good tires and a Dana 44 rear axle I’d guess it is a $10,000 Jeep here in the CT market.

Been looking on Craigslist for about 2 months.... 6-8k if frame is good

The rust In the fenders is common, but will scare some folks off.

Frame is solid, no rust at all. I will post pictures of the undercarriage and a close picture of both fenders tomorrow. Was working today and didn't get a chance to snap those

Ha, my wife had knee surgery and has been home all month. She got jiggy with the computer and she bought a '91YJ Sahara, then saw the TJ a week later and bought it too. What the heck, two are better than one! Tell ya what though, 4.0 manual Saharas are a somewhat rare commodity, you should get a pretty decent price for it. In the meantime i'll try to hide yours from my wife, I don't know what we'd do with three! :-)

In Arizona with current mileage about $7500. If it has some rust issues then it's very doubtful that anybody in AZ would buy it, because there are plenty of them out here with no rust!

I posted this on the "98 TJ" thread, but it works well on this one too. I've been casually looking for a TJ for quite some time, and it's my experience that finding one with the 4.0/automatic, and under 100K miles is virtually impossible. If you find one around 100K, they'll want around $10K for it. The Sahara package/air doesn't seem to make much difference, nor do any modifications that might have been made. It's my opinion that the value of a host of mods is negated by the perception that anyone who needs long-arm lifts, winches, 37's, etc. has probably beat hell out of it off the road.

And of course, the biggie is rust. If it has rust, you can lower that by a minimum of $2K and possibly more. Nobody wants a rust bucket....and believe me, what the OWNER thinks is significant rust is almost never what the prospective buyer considers significant rust.

Yeah, same reasoning in Georgia too. We have a lot of rain and moisture, but we dont salt the roads here. Cars have to be a lot older than a 98 for rust to normally be a concern, so a rusty 98 would go unsold for a long, long time unless it was priced seriously under-market.

I think that's probably a different view from a lot of Northern states where, because of salty roads, ALL cars have rust, just different levels of rust.

Undercarriage and rust detail pictures ever get posted? I usually run from North East TJ's, but maybe this one is not too bad.

Personally not interested, but I think you should post some engine compartment pics too.
