What Does It Look Like Underneath The Sahara Rocker Guard?

i dont like the small plastic molding under the door. i believe its called the rocker guard/molding. what does it look like underneath? would it look like the rest of the door? or is it going to leave holes? is this exclusive to the sahara's? what was the idea behind them? my friends 06 65th anniversary has them also.

There are seven holes when you remove the Sahara Rocker Guard so you would have to put something over it to cover it up, also you need to make sure you get a rocker guard to cover that goes high enough over the old holes

With Guard

With no Guard

After I installed Diamond Plate (Warrior Diamond Plate)

Here's what was under my plastic.

And here's what I installed. Works well.

I bounced off a very large tree a couple weeks ago and just got a small scuff on the rail.

Well that sucks. I was just hoping to take the small bubbly piece behind the fender off. The rest doesn't bother me. But I guess the rocker guard is better than the holes it will leave behind if I take it off

all the pictures show the entire rocker panel removed. is it possible to just take off the bubbly piece behind the fender without any holes?

Yep, got the rails off ebay from e-autogrilles. Really like them. I've pivoted my Jeep around a couple obstacles and they held up very well.
