What Gears should i use??

Hey guys, i have a 2005 wrangler tj rocky mountain edition with a six speed manual and a dana 44 in the rear, dana 30 in the front. it currently has 30" tires and 3.73 gears, but i am planning on getting a new lift kit and 35" tires to go with it. i was wondering what gears would be best for me and also is there anything else i need to do? Thanks in advance!

Some say 4.88, some say the 5.13. if this is a daily driver or seeing alot of highway miles i would go with 4.88, if its gonna be a full trail rig go with the 5.13

The lowest you could go is 4.88 because of the Dana 30

but do you think that the dana 30 would be durable enough to run 35's offroad? my dad had a 97 tj with a dana 35 with 33's that broke almost everytime he got stuck

If you can afford it, get the hardened shafts and you should be ok. Dana 44 would be nice too My friend runs 35" tires with an ARB locker on his Dana 30 and stock shafts and no problems yet...

I'm going threw the same thing I have 36s I'm downsizing to 35s but from what Iv gathered chromoly shaft and better u joints u should b fine thats what I'm doing and the reason the d35 brakes is it sees more power to the rear then the front the front generally gets 50% that's why it can hold 35s
