Preformix plasti dip. I bought mines at lowes for under $8 a spray can. Stores usually carry Black and yellow but all different colors can be had online. Plastidip.com Took 2 cans to do the entire dash and center console.

It's a synthetic rubber so it'll give it a textured feel. At first it dried moist, but cures overnight and pretty smooth and durable afterwards.

Plenty of threads on the Internet where they love this stuff. I'll be rattle canning my entire jeep with white plastidip after my interior is cleaned out.

Wow that looks great. I used Plasti Dip years ago and I thought the only thing they offered was the liquid you dipped plier handles and stuff into. I may have to rethink my idea of using Duplicolor vinyl dye on my dash (same color yours was).

xenon 4" flares, oil change, ordered rocksliders and coil spacers to level the front... this could be classified as a disease I think

If 2003 or newer, you will need a ZF steering box. Saginaw boxes won't fit. Remanufactured ones are a little scarce - my experience after waiting for almost 3 weeks to get one recently. Mine was leaking at the input shaft as did the OE one I replaced in December. Warranty covered replacement of box and part of labor.

The ZF steering gear was introduced in 2003 model Wranglers, switching the steering system from a variable ratio to a constant ratio. Not surprisingly, this switch coincided with the purchase of Jeep by Daimler. ZF steering gears were used in most Mercedes passenger cars prior to the switch to rack-and-pinion steering systems. The ZF units are manufactured in India and offer a straight 15:24 ratio. There are many internal differences between the early and late-model TJ steering boxes and the two are not interchangeable. Both use a three-bolt mounting configuration, but the pattern is different, which is a helpful indicator should you receive the incorrect steering gear for your vehicle upon replacement.

thanks TJeepman... mine is a 1999... I'm planning to go with a PSC or a remf. Durango in case that changing the seals fail (leaking at the input shaft too)

Could be corrosion at the input shaft that is causing the leak. Will probably need to sleeve it if that is the case.
Only certain Durango steering boxes work, like from a 1998 or 1999 4WD V8 or something. Although it all sounds hunky dory, they are likely not in much better shape than yours, if you can even find one at a junk yard. I would go the remanufactured route.

I removed the roof and doors... and broke the top bolt in the passenger door hinge. Yeah, any ideas on how to swap it out or replace it? Jeep wanted $65 for the 1 bolt.

I broke both of mine off I didn't worry about replacing it. Unless your really worried about theft I wouldn't put a new one in

If you go remanufactured, they may want the same core back as supplied, ie Durango if you go that route. Worth checking.

Removed the second set of spacers from the front coils. When I got it, the front had two sets of BB's on the front

Aligned the front end, and it drives so much better now.

Took her out for a leisurely stroll around some back roads with the windows out after the rain. It was quite refreshing getting the road spray on the back of the neck I want to enjoy every bit of the warm weather before the wife wants the hardtop back on.

Today was my birthday and I had the day to work on my 03 Wrangler X. I wanted to lay down some bed liner on the front clip of the front fenders. I also coated the brush guard.
Before

Prep work

Bed liner time.

finished and put back together.

Replaced the starter, oil changed, and finally mounted my rear speakers. Had a set of 6x9s bouncing around for months.

Yeah, I'm more worried about stuff being stolen out of it, rather than the doors themselves being stolen.
