Got busy and pulled the carpet and seats to rubber coat the interior went with the rust oleom truck bed rattle can
How'd you like the rustoleum rattle can? How many cans did it take? I'm planning on this in a couple days but recently read comments saying they didn't like the rustoleum stuff. I use rustoleum rattle cans for lost stuff, including their rust reformer when I undercoated a couple weeks ago.

I love it I did a layer of rust oleom rust stopper in flat black (2cans) then 1.5 cans of the bigger bed linner cans. It has just the right amout of grit and texture and is scratch resistant so far (putting seats back in, dragging tools Accross were my only tests so far)

The wife and I made one out of the same material, only it is just a bikini top. Made most of it with her sewing machine, until the sewing crapped out. I then took it to an upholstery guy and he lined the edges with webbing to make it more durable and made the loops out of the meaning as well. He told me the material we used would last long. Well it has been two years and it is still holding great. Looks great. Wish I would have thought about the carpet tape. It would have saved me from buying a new sewing machine for her. I will keep it in mind when I remake it like yours. Great write up.
Before you use the carpet tape next time then run a seam with your wife's sewing machine... It will break it again. The local seamstress wouldn't do it for me because of the tape. So I had to do a quick sew with fishing line. Now I'm all finished. Not gunna lie. after all this work, I should have just bought the $50 spider web off quadratic.

after days of prep i finally had a full day off so i sprayed the bed liner.

Went with the rustoleum bed liner in the rattle can. I think it is good stuff, but to anyone planning on using this stuff, the trick is keeping the can upside down while spraying. It tends to be nothing but air after a few seconds when you spray holding the can the "normal" way.
