Made it based on a 4 link suspension chassis from RC4WD. Body is Tamiya. All the other bits are custom or from the net. Even has real scale bead locks. 1/10 scale.

Dropped in a Duralast Gold battery (DLG-34) for under $100 with a discount. Battery wasn't able to hold a charge anymore and I was tired of popping the hood to use my aux starter to fire up the jeep. DLG-34 has an 8 year pro rated warranty. If anything happens in the first three years, free replacement, no questions asked.

Also, side note since I saw your AZ plates. I just got back from a week in AZ, Peoria area, and I couldn't believe that there wasn't more Jeeps around. And, the ones that I saw all had tops and doors on.

I was jealous, if I was down there with my rig I'd be topless and doorless in a heartbeat. Is there a reason everybody stays locked up? Theft problems?

I understand in the hot hot summers keeping the top on and stuff, but it was beautiful mid 70's while I was there.
Thanks Nick!

I can't tell you why you didn't see more Jeeps, I see quite a few around here. As far as the weather, we're all spoiled here. Mid 70's is still a little chilly! Although I'm running topless now. Just gotta wear a hat and long sleeves.

New Radiator and hoses, plus a few other odds and ends... Not fun stuff, but not cracking a block is fun, right?

Had to drill out and replace a wheel stud, took about 30 minutes including the time it took to drive to the local auto parts store.

Looks awesome Drock.... plasti dip? Hey, some time saving advice, next time you're taping up a window or huge surface, use newspaper to fill the huge voids... its a much faster way to cover areas and cheaper than tape..

Thanks. lol, yea I know but no papers, lol. Got tons of tape from painting the house. But no I tried plasti dip came off very easy, rustoleum bed liner also scratched off easy. Krylon Fusion worked the best of my test spots so I used it. Plus it was the cheapest of the three. took three cans.

Yea, I must say I was supprised how well it looks. I am no painter but the Fusion is easy to work with and it looks very factory like no drips or streaking. The fusion sprays very thin coats in a pass so it took alot to get coverage but I think that is what makes it look so nice. Now if it holds up all will be well. I think it will look much better from inside now. did not take long at all either.

I was wondering what would work best and it seems that you have done your homework on it. So I'm probably gonna go with the fusion as well. It may be a couple of weeks before I get to it but I'll post pics after its done.

Nothing major. Touched up some paint on my bumper and headlight bezels. Gave her a nice warm bath. Started cleaning the engine(wow what a pain. Well see if I finish that!) took the top off for the first time this year! Now I'm taking her golfing.
