Sanded all of the rust ( well almost I'll of it) off of my warn rock slides. Man are they pitted. Hit with some rust inhibiter and waiting to prime them tomorrow. Have a cheap can of bedlinner that I'm going to finish them off with...

I finished cleaning out the inside of the frame got all the rust flakes and dirt out. Then I threw a coat of paint on it.

I might be looking for either a replacement frame or a newer Tj or maybe a Lj in a year or two

Did you buy a new one or rebuild the one you had? I'm hoping to rebuild, but if it winds up being beyond repair, I was wondering where all the TJ motors are hiding.

I had to buy new I had a broken piston skirt that gouged the cyl wall pretty bad. I couldn't afford to have her down too long. I drove it forever 40k with the broken piston lol
I got mine from auto zone just under $1500. I did all the work so I saved there tho

Wired up the KC knockoffs I put on the bumper a couple days ago. I had picked up one of those wiring kits with the switch and relay at Advance Auto. Man, you get what you pay for
The wires were barely reaching, and it looked like crap, so I went to the local Napa and picked up some wire and did the jpb properly. Took me a few hours, but I always solder and heat shrink everything, plus I took extra time to run the wires as neatly as possible. Now I just gotta go adjust the lights

I started on my mirror I rigged up to put in the hinge when the doors are off. I snagged a mirror off an old Honda scooter and welded a stud on the bottom. I had this great idea to use a wingnut so the whole deal would be toolless. Of course there isn't enough room between the hinge and the tub to use a wingnut, so there goes that brilliant idea
Ran out of steam, so I'll paint the mirror tomorrow and round up a regular nut to go on the bottom. Chance of rain the next few days, so I won't get to try it out until next week some time.

All in all, a pretty productive day

I replaced my sealed beams w/same, but how are those PIAA 520s for reg driving? OE works great lighting up the sides/curbs/trails, what are the benefits of the PIAAs ?

I've got those same lights on mine and the chrome reflective material has faded to a chalky kind of look. Needless to say I'm not happy with mine. Though KC did send me 2 replacement sets to try and rectify the problem. I do love the light output of them tho I have 100w xenon blue bulbs in them

What came w/them, H4 or H7 bulbs? IF you changed what came w/them, are the bulbs putting off more heat now?

Stock fogs are only 55w of white light. The PIAA 520s are 85w of yellow light. Big difference!

I wired them into my factory fog switch wire inside the engine bay on top of the driver-side wheel-well.

55w/ 60w H4 bulbs came with them. I'm sure they put off more heat, but the first set I had faded with the bulbs that came with them. I bought the xenon bulbs with the second set. So I don't feel the bulb heat affected them

Pulled all the wheels and cleaned all the brakes (with spray brake cleaner) to resolve a mystery squeak, it worked. Also cleaned and reoiled the K&N and put the doors back on (no nuts, yet anyway).

Well in the last two weekends i Fixed a rust spot on the passenger side rocker that the previous owner covered up with bondo (bad attempt) I cut it out, welded in new sheet metal, thin layer of bondo to fix any imperfections and painted the factory light khaki metallic, put the rocker guards back on and done!

Afterwards I heard some officer speak of some missing girl in the mountains and that they were having trouble traversing the terrain. I told them I would help - as my house was on the other side and it would be quicker to go through than around the mountains. As I drove through I spotted something on the ground by a nearby tree and got out to inspect. As I moved the hood back I realized it was the missing girl. She startled awake and I extended my hand to help her up. Her eyes lit up when she saw the Jeep and she jumped in the front seat.

After driving her home, I made my way back to my house - my day finally over. As the sun faded behind the tall trees I walked past my Jeep to my door. But something was missing... ...I left the gas cap on top of the pump. But alas, that is another story for another day...
This is what I call a Jeep day! Ah if every day could be a Jeep day, it reminds me of the time;
I saw a train speeding toward a stalled hummer on a train track. There was no time to get to Hummer as the train would be there before I could. So I drove the Katrina Jeep onto the track behind the train. I rammed the rear of the train in just a way to lodge Katrina's front tow hooks under the train. I slammed on the brakes, put it in 4low and reverse. Gravel, smoke and rail debris flew in all directions as the train screamed to a stop inches from the Hummer. Yep yep, twas another day for the Katrina Jeep. Oh well it might have happend like that.
