I am on week two of installing my lift...3.25" RC. Have no idea what I'm doing and the instructions are written for someone that does. So the Haines manual and Google have been slight helpers. My intentions were to make more progress Tues afternoon until I was told I'd be on watch all night. Perks of the Navy I guess. Hoping to get a quick nap then hop to it later today. It's a slow process but I'm learning as I go. The pattern has been try a method, stare at it for an hour knowing there has to be a better way. Then coming back a bit later to try something new. Example, didn't know that a spring compression tool existed so I used ratchet straps...why yes, that is very ballsy/dangerous but who knew. Then a co-worker laughed at me and told me about the tool...much safer. Forgot to get complete before pictures and am taking pictures along the way. Will post when done. Finished the front end except for drilling the new hole posit for the track bar (think I'm using correct terminology here?). Otherwise new tires are on front and daddy likes the new look...just hope I like the new ride.

Met up with a fellow member here, did some mild off road then parked and admired each others Jeep and came up with ideas for each other.

Stopped by the local "junk" yard. I found about about a 97 TJ 3 days after it had been posted on Craigslist and it was PICKED APART by then. The owner of the junk yard said we are like vultures!

Anyway, I got 2 windshield hinges w/o any rust, a radiator overfill bottle, and 2 hvac vents for the center stack, all for 30 bucks! Cleaned and installed vents, putting in the bottle now (mine has rusty buildup on the bottom)

Weld a bolt to the bottom of the mirror post and put a lock washer and nut on it, they wont move.

Today i changed my spark plugs to champion 7034. Also took off the flowmaster super 40 that turned down before the axle and installed a dynomax catback. Wayyy less drone and vibration, sounds much smoother.

Went from this

To this

and finally to this

Sprayed the fender flares with bed liner and pulled the steps off. Quickly realized I'm going to need sliders.

Pulled off my off road lights and sprayed them too. They will go on tonight after they dry.

Counting down the days until my new bumper with winch mount arrives.

Nice job Supra! I need to build something to cover my stuff up too. Preying eyes make for sticky fingers. I'm yet to park at Walmart cause I know my stuff would get swiped

Here's where we are so far. We lack the light bar, grinding and coating; then mount the new WARN winch and lights. The name "grumpy" came from the inspiration...Overkill Engineerings Bumper....called...you guessed it...their Grumpy Bumper.

IMO its called grumpy cuz it makes the headlights look like eyes and the bumper is slanted eyebrows thus making it look mad

You are doing an excellent job if you are bending and welding that together yourself. I'm trying to get hubby, who is an excellent welder, to work on one for me since I tend to leave lots of beads behind that take forever to grind off. ANd yes, I see why it's called the grumpy bumper, very cool.
