Today I helped some lady re-arrange her driver side door panel using my fender flare.

[QUOTE=JTjeep64;2396346]Did the clear turn signal conversion. Looks great on silver.

Definitely! I scored nice stainless phillips head screw at my local hardware store and replaced all of my direction light and headlight screws with them. Cost- $1.29 Don't know bout your but mines were all partially stripped and rusted.

The brown suit guy just graced my presence with gifts all addressed to me! Pictures will follow in a bit.

Still waiting on one more package, but that's being sent via usps and arriVes tomorrow or Friday... or Saturday.

Oh and my new replacement rampage frameless soft top should be here by the end of this week (just called again today to get it sent out)!

tune up

What a day. First I changed the belt and cleaned all of the pulleys. Word to the wise, Prestone belt dressing is horrible stuff. It just turns into sticky tar and ruins the belt. Then I changed engine oil, filter, tranny fluid, diff fluid, t-case, and air filter. Oh, and ditched the milk jugs!

Discovered that the stitching is ripping out of the seams in my soft top, around the passenger side door and quarter window. Hopefully I can talk my wife into letting me get the trextop nx.

Got the phone call that my OR-Fab tire carrier that I ordered last week got backordered, and now I probably won't see it for another week or two..... so kind of bummed about that, but oh well!

Also got my rear bumper flat end caps in the mail today and installed them with some class...... using zip ties :-) I know you can get some actual hardware for them, but seems pointless. They fit in the bumper snug enough, and the ties will just ensure they don't go anywhere.

Man, that is the exact same thing that is happening to mine...except on the driver side. I was at a 4WD show this past weekend and was so close to getting that bestop trektop nx. It's just hard to buy a brand new one when this thing still works...it ain't cheap.

Just got the last piece of the puzzle for my homemade grumpy bumper, KC Hilites 452 Apollo Pro Series 5". "Planning" on finishing the bumper with my dad....weld the light bar, grind, paint, install the M8000 winch & lights!!!

I'm getting gitty....or maybe just whipped on driving around with no bumper.

Honestly, I know it's not the "Jeep way", but I won't be doing the install on it.

I try to do the install on everything I can, but this ones just a little too labor intensive for me with my fairly limited garage set up and time.

It's mostly just a lot of drilling, but I'd rather pay to have it done right then screw it up myself. The way it attaches to the tub and through the tub to the rollbar and stuff is all super awesome, but kind of intricate. The asst manager at 4WP has one on his TJ, and he's had it on there for like 6 or 7 years and he was letting me check it out. Super durable and hasn't started to wear out or anything even after that long of time.

I removed the old faded dealer license plate holder. There goes 4 oz of useless plastic that I don't need.

Took off the hardtop and installed a new Bestop Supertop NX along with the included hardware. Not a bad job, took about two hours. While I was at it removed the "milk jugs" from the front bumper. I also removed two windshield brackets and lights. I'll reinstall the lights on the bumper. Things yet to do, find a used full console from my 2001, make a "trunk" behind the rear seat and get a 10.5" wheel and tire for my spare. Also planning on installing wider flares. Got a ways to go but she's coming along.

Today I am collecting my TJ. Having been an XJ owner for many years, I am really looking forward to.

500 mile round trip to get it though.

Got it about a week ago. 06 LJ. So far just plasti dipped the wheels and grille and then removed the sidesteps. Hopefully putting on some rock sliders soon. Looking at Poison Spyder. Does anyone have other recommendations?

I know some people will hate on this, but smittybilt actually makes really good rock sliders. I love mine, they are holding up great so far.

Then I replaced the spark plugs, breaking this one off, scaring the shit out of me at first.

Do these look fouled to you guys?

Then I replaced the rotor, and the distributor cap, then added new wires (which had some corrosion)

I'd call it a successful day overall. Now to go see if it improved my MPG at all.

Yes the price scares me, but I think I've decided to get the sailcloth replace a top. Mainly for my wife so she can easily put the top up and down when she is driving it.
