When I had my top off I used a tarp & bungees. I just covered the whole jeep. Went down over the windshield bungees to the mirrors then hooked the back to the bumper. Worked well!! I have full doors tho & have yet been able to get them off. But soon!! :0)

A small S-hook and bungee cord keep it held against the dash (although it almost stays there on its own due to tension from the sides). There's two bolt&wingnut setups on each side, using the rock slider attachment points, which hold the tarp down outside the doors, and a couple bungee cords secure the back of the tarp to the tub. It's pretty quick to put on and take off, and provides more rain resistance where I need it (seats, dash, and steering wheel) than putting just the top up does. Rolls up nice & compact, too.

I feel like the current set up is going to be problematic though: huge surface area will be draining over the dash. I'm going to mess with it some more tomorrow, see if I can't fold the seats or something to make it slope away from the dash. There's nowhere near enough slack to fasten it near the top of the windshield, and if I go for a larger tarp, I'll have too much slack which will be a problem in the wind.
I cover the whole thing this picture is a little messy since I was putting on the lift in the back bit you'll get the idea

Got the tires rotated, balanced, and an alignment, took out a 5-6" nail out of one of the tires and fixed that, oil check and standard engine check up.

I bought my jeer from a older man and it came with a nice (emergency) top that fits on there perfectly just a tarp cut to shape and hooks up to the jeep like a regular soft top does I could probably drive it at slow speeds but it covers the front windshield i wouldnt guess it to cost much but i have no idea ill see if i can find a pic of it

Definitely #1 on my "to-try" list of solutions for today.

Any idea what the dimensions on your tarp are? If I can't figure out a way to get similar dash/seat/door coverage out of my 8x10 (I've got a few ideas in mind), then a larger tarp might just be the answer.

Yikes, that's a lot of tarp! I've got no doubts that it keeps your cab dry, though. Any trouble with wind, or is it secured tight enough to not be an issue?

Edit:
A little rain in the tub never hurt anybody. A few weekends ago the carpet got soaked with half doors on and top up, but no side windows or top-half of the doors, so I pulled it out and bought myself a little 1 gallon shop-vac that I keep in the back now, along with an extension cord. One nice thing about Alaska is that there are power outlets in most parking lots.

That's just accuweather, "classic map" from the website. I like that map better, I run radar now too, sometimes.

I found that Radar now works best for me, I work outside and the free version tells me what is about to fall on my head in enough time to put the tools and equipment away so we don't get wet

Sorry the pics are so big after rooting phone the pictures get kinda bigger.

Got back to my room, no less than 5 minutes later the skies opened up, so I grabbed some extra bungee cords and went to make adjustments. Rolled up the towel I keep in the Jeep and fit it between the tarp and the dash, then tilted the seats back as far as they'd go. It's not a steep slope towards the back, but it's enough that water will puddle over the center console and run off to the sides, rather than run behind the dash. By the time I was done, there was some significant puddling in the back of the tub, and a bit behind the seats (as expected), but that's what the shop-vac's for! Of course, as soon as I got back inside, dripping wet, the rain let up. C'est la vie!

Looks like that spray on bed liner is "the thing" to do. Does it stick to anything? Anyone have any peeling issues yet?

I haven't had any as of yet. I use the rust-oleum brand and it seems to do the trick.

Man throwing a tarp off and on all the time just to go doorless seems like a huge hassle.

It's not that bad really. Only 8 attachment points, 4 of which are just hooks, the other four are loosely screwed on wingnuts. When I'm doorless, even if I throw the top up, the seats still get nice and wet. I could keep the two-piece doors and the back windows in the trunk-area, but then I lose most of my trunk-space. And I'd have to take my mirrors off to put the lower half of the doors on... Talk about a huge hassle! The other alternative is to trashbag the seats&wheel, but even that takes more work to set up and remove than the tarp.

:
I also have a CJ with no top and I lost the doors somewhere and we can use it to cover both if we need to. The wind doesn't affect it at all but you need to put something to hold up the middle so water doesn't weigh it down and drop all of it into the cab. It happened to me once and I ended up having 4 inches of water in there with only 1/2 an inch of rain.
