Heh, I saw those pics elsewhere on these boards recently. I was only able to find 40-something gallon bags, had to use two per seat. Really though, after the rain totally let up today, the tarp's done its job just fine, and I can't argue with the relative ease of set up/take down compared to the other things I've tried thus far. To each their own, eh? (Where's the  or  smiley when you need it?)

Air Filter

Anyone know how much horse power a K&N RF-1045 Universal Air Filter gives out? Here's a picture link, but nothing about hp.

K&N® RF-1045 - Round Tapered Air Filter (3.5" F x 5.5" B x 4" D x 8" L)

The other alternative is to trashbag the seats&wheel, but even that takes more work to set up and remove than the tarp.
I got the trail cover for when it rains here. They don't cost that much and fit real well.

Those are sweet pictures. What kind of wheels do you have? Your spare is different?

Yes my spare has a different rim...I'm not sure on the wheels. This shows them better though...I love them.

I know your spare wheel is a pro comp. I'll look for the other 4 wheels.

Did you buy them from someone or did you paint them?

Oof, $100+? In the grand scheme of things, it's really not a bad price. But I'm just a broke, should-have-graduated-a-few-years-ago, college student, so the $15 price tag on my tarp&hardware is much more attractive

I can keep my seat dry w my tarp but my main thing is my seatbelt gets wet. The water gets down in the place it rolls up into u. Any ideas??

+1... love my Best Top Trail Cover. However, the only complaint I have is the back loops don't work with the LED tail lights and the Die-Tech mirror brackets as well as the snorkel get a smidge in the way. Those 3 items are easy to adapt and overcome though...

Zero HP. The stock intake gives the 4.0L more than enough air, and the CAI wont even be supplying cold air since its a couple of inches above the engine block.

Considering cost to buy overhead console I'm going to try my hand at building one. Should be a nice project to knock out this weekend and I can put that little POS Harbor Freight welder to use.
Last night, bought 2 4ft pieces of 1 inch square tube and a 2 ft square of 22gauge sheet. Took a few preliminary measurements and the normal standing, looking, mentally picturing design with a beer.

Have fun welding the 22 to it with that welder. Your going to burn through almost instantly

Today I finally upgraded my injectors to some 4 hole 784's and what a difference it made in throttle response and smoothed out the engine's idle.. I'll post up if there any mpg improvement... I know this is a big thing with xj owners do but I haven't seen anything about tj's so has anyone else done a injector upgrade

For what reasons do the XJ owners do it? I'm intrigued with 187,000 miles I could use new injectors I'm sure

The upgrade is the 4 hole spray you get with with the 784's over the stocks 1 hole other than that they have the same flow so you just get more of a mist than a spray and inturn you get better throttle response and a smoother idle... When I owned a xj and was on the XJ forum's this topic was everywhere and I've just never noticed anything on the tj forums

I bought the Jeep with the air intake in it. He said about 18 extra horses. So how much hp do i have? That's the only engine upgrade.

I actually took out my back seat, and did my "tailgate" --everything behind my front seats. also did my door "skidplates" they look pretty sharp, and no peeling yet! seemed to get harder and harder as it set up. I used Duplicolor Bed Armor. Water-based, but very pleased.

Impossible to know for sure without a dyno but the 4.0L is rated to 190hp. A CAI won't do anything for it unless you're actually getting cold air.
