Also today, I threw my roll bar covers in the wash, then 303'd em, and put on my new SpiderWebShade (SW1 TJ Trail Mesh) delivered via KrawlOff-Road. Great Product and fast delivery over the holiday week.

I took it for a for a relatively long ride on the highway during the brightest part of the day, and was thoroughly pleased with the SpiderWebShade.

Take seats out use dish soap scrub with a brush and high pressure wash and left dry in the sun if there real bad.

You got a good deal, and it looks good
It was just one of those Craigs list finds that always happen to "the other guy". This time I just got lucky. Was doing one of my "just fer da hell of it" searches and ran into it the day after she had posted the thing like on a Saturday. Sent her a couple emails about it and she called me that next Monday saying I was second in line as she was going to just go by the order of emails because she had so many. Of course I never thought to ever hear anything from her ever again. No one would pass that up if its nice right? Wrong... low and behold an hour later I got a voice mail saying the first in line had passed on it because it wasn't OEM and he wanted an OEM.

It seems that this first potential buyer was a body shop or some such thing like that from what she said so she wanted me to know it was not OEM. She really didn't know anything about them. And quite frankly, outside of not having the wiper, this Bestop is somewhat nicer than OEM. Its fully headlined with some sort of nice Carpet stuff and does have Defrost glass and a light. I still can't believe they passed it up. But, perhaps they were doing a repair job for insurance or something? I knew no one else was going to pass on it.

It turns out she was selling it for her Boss who has a large Plumbing business. Which is were it was located. So... I jumped in the truck and ran up there fast as I could. Stopped by and got cash out and didn't even take my trailer with me. About 30 miles.

Of course I asked if she would take less but she obviously wouldn't with all the emails she had waiting. But... I asked about a headache rack that was sitting behind it and she just says "if you want that I will throw it in". Of course I jumped right on that. I was prepared to pay her the $250 anyway. This Headache rack is nicely made and off a F250/F350 so I know I can get $75 or $100 for it. Should put me into the Hard Top for maybe $150 all said and done?

So I make the deal and returned to day to get it, and the headache rack too. And now the rack is up on Craigs list asking $150 and I sent some pictures to some various business I know that probably will want it for one of their work trucks.

here is the thrown in rack...

I seem to have a thing for throwing crap out. Had I thought I might use the mirrors on my Jeep I would have kept my Harley mirrors when I bought new ones. Just like the electric fan, I threw out my shroud. Been thinking of going back to mechanical... One of these days I'll learn

I tried to ignore the shift light. But then I see it in the corner of my eye and I have the nagging thought that I'm chucking gas money out of the window.

Not what I did, but someone decided that there was something to steal in a jeep that has no top or doors, they just made a mess throwing my rag, wd40 and sunscreen on the floor.

Had it for a week and a half and this is what I have done so far:

*Flushed radiator
*Installed DynoMax catback
*Installed blue lights in dash, HVAC and shift indicator
*Installed hide-a-trunk
*Cleaned and treated battery terminals
*Fixed rattle in driver’s door
*Fixed water leak into passenger floor pan
*Fixed Passenger side Blinker and marker lights
*Painted headlight rings black
*Removed and re-installed front sway bar links (they were backwards)
*Took off spare tire and removed mount
*Installed mag Light mount
*Installed Rugged Ridge floor mats
*Installed AntennaX antenna
*Installed Alpine stereo with XM
*Replaced stock Sub with Pyramid Sub
*Installed blocks to raise the seats
*Drove it with soft top on then with windows out, then with top down, then with top off, then installed hard top to get it home from the PO. With it so freakin hot here, kinda nice with the hard top on and AC on.
*Adjusted Toe-in (was at “0” set it to 1/8” and now it drives friggin awesome)
*Drove it….. then drove it some more, love this thing!

Almost all of this stuff was done with tips and directions from posts on this forum, you guys rock!

On my wish list….

Re-gear (has 3.07’s)
Bumpers front and rear
Winch
Wiring kit for the hard top
Nice work haha sounds like you've been saving up for it. I'm wondering how you stopped the leak on the passenger side floor pan. i have the same problem

Well I noticed my rear diff leaking today so I took the cover off and resealed it. As soon as I got the cover off though it started raining sideways so I had to wait two hours to finish it. I got it done though with some black rtv and after I got it all bolted back up and filled, I noticed the ID plate for the diff laying on the ground next to me, I forgot to put it back on.

After that I changed the oil in my sister in laws TJ and topped off all her fluids.

Holy sh&%!!!!!!

I installed my new Boston acoustics 4 X 6's in the dash. They sound fantastic! I can't believe these were $40 speakers...and of course Crutchfield supplied the hardware for free and made it a ten minute job swapping them in. Now I wait for my replacement center console sub...

My front shocks also started squeaking and creaking today so it looks like new shocks before I can upgrade my steering....
