So up here in NW pennsylvania we got a random 76 degree day after it's been 40s and rain so I skipped out on studying for midterm and prepped her up for winter gave her a nice bath and wax and took her top off! (and yes I'm talking about the jeep) hoping I can get the Durango box I bought on it sometime this week and undercoat the snot out of the frame. Fingers crossed for some more beautiful days!!!

Put the hardtop back on for winter. Added weather striping to help slow down the leaks.

Started refinishing my Hi-Lift jack, shovel, mount.

Today I discovered that a 14 year old stock suspension, that has been abused with hockey pucks used as coil spacers and an amateurly done body lift, handles like absolute shit after taking off the sway bar (because I broke one of the links last week).

I learned that the amount of rust on the underside of a Jeep is directly proportional to the amount of blood loss expected from each fastener that needs removing.

I also learned that once you start turning wrenches, there is nothing stopping you from clicking "buy" on that new lift kit. Apparently, since I have it all torn apart (which I don't), it makes perfect sense to tear it completely apart.

We had a rare sunny day here in NW Jersey too so I spent the day doing easy bolt on stuff. Replaced the front blinker light assemblies since the old ones were cracked, replaced my old mirrors with the Bestop 03-06 TJ style (huge improvement) then tackled the flares. The front flares were a piece of cake and since the old flares were off, I used polishing compound to remove some scratches and added wax. I was surprised at how the 14 year old paint shined up. Put new marker lights in the front flares and added my new seat covers. Top down, took her out for a quick drive. Going to NH in a few weeks so my Dad and I can instal a new serpetine belt, brakes and other odds and ends before old geezer winter gets here. Nice days like yesterday are gonna get rare.

Thumbs up

Actually, it was yesterday...I finally got my doors off (after a week of PB Blaster, even then ended up having to remove bottom door hinge) & the top of my 04 Wrangler and took the family & the dog out to play

^^ haha it's alway funny when you have a clean spot when everywhere else there is dirt and you remember what is your jeep's original color.

Removed the heat shield and outer wrap off the muffler that had rusted and started rattling. She's all quiet again

Blacked out the grill. Flat black, looks awesome at night and in the garage light, hopefully it holds up in the daylight tomorrow!

I didn't actually do anything, but I did consider kicking the tires. We just had a hail storm that dented the crap out of my hood. Looks like someone went crazy with a BB gun on it. That $500 deductable doesn't seem like such a wonderful idea right about now. I do see most of the damage is on the raised part of the hood. I'm thinking there might be a silver lining here...
My wife, if she has no gas in her jeep, will drive mine. She has an 11 JK 4door Rubicon. (No hail damage btw-what the hell!) I know she won't want to be seen in my "old" 05 with a dented hood. I mean oh my Gawd, right. Sooooo, maybe, its time time for that Poison Spider louvered hood panel that I've been drooling on. $500 deductable vs $116 for the panel. Seems a no brainer. You know its really for her Plus I did buy her a new Warn 9.0rc and plate YESTERDAY!
