Installed a new head unit. Whoever installed the old unit should never be allowed to touch tools and deserves 5 knuckles to his chin. he tore the dash up, I had to fabricate aluminum brackets where the bolts go in to hold the surround in place. Drywall screws are not acceptable in my book, but apparently they were in his. All the 16-18 gauge wires were crimped with YELLOW 8-10 gauge butt connectors and pretty much pulled apart, and the ground wire was red, I mean come on!! I rewired everything (need to do the sound bar speakers today.....which are loosely taped to the roll bar.

It works better now, I will be satisfied when I get the rear speakers done. Considering adding 2 Ammo can speaker boxes on the rear wheel wells, but I havent decided yet. I installed an Alpine Unit with IPod adapter. I still need to fit the trim ring on it, so dont flame me too bad for the poor look right now.

Here's the weirded thing I did to my TJ. When I'd had it for a year, I noticed while changing the oil that rust was developing between the frame and the skid plate. I removed the skid plate, sanded, primed and painted the plate and frame, then made oval washers from an innertube to place between the two. That was 12 years ago, and no rust to date. It's pure Wrangler obsession, eh?

Poison Spyder Customs Hood Louver install

Installed the Poison Spyder Customs hood louver today. Pretty simple install that can be completed with basic tools. Took about 2-3 hours just taking our time. Only thing I didn't have in my toolbox was the 1" hole saw which cost me $9 at the hardware store.

Thanks! I agree, it really improves the looks as well as allowing the heat to escape easier. I noticed how hot it got in Moab this year, so that was my initial reason for the purchase, but the looks are great too! Much better than some of the alternatives out there. Poison Spyder Customs has it going on!

Last time I had an issue like that I ran down to America's Tire and paid them to remove the lug. They have a tool that removes wheel locks if you don't have the lock, so I'm sure it'd work for a stripped one. Cost me $10 bucks I think. Much better than the frustration of trying to fix it yourself.

ajones8230, that does look cool. Was thinking of doing that myself. I have spider webbing on my hood and it looks like crap.

Removed headlight bezels, bumper with winch and spots to prep the grille for paint. The stock black paint has so many white stone chips showing that it needs some paint badly. Will be painting it a color called cast iron. Will be doing that tomorrow. Can't wait.
