Dang I miss Fall in good old NoVA. I really wish I would have had my Jeep when I lived up there. Would be wonderful to take a gorgeous drive up to Skyline Drive or even western Loudoun...

Of course now, I get to keep the doors off for about 9-10 months of the year.

I've actually not gotten that far yet. It's an X so I have no carpet, the current floor is factory paint, dirt, sand, rocks and crappy autozone generic floormats. LOL. In the spring i'm going to coat the bottom of the tub with bed liner.

Trying to track down a click Ive been hearing since doing the axel swaps. Found U joints in the rear shaft that looked shitty and of course the CV joints boot is gone and is binding a lil, why wouldnt this thing keep costing me money.

Rebuilt and balanced drive shaft will be picked up tomorrow afternoon.

Just bought a '99 Windstar Air Box off ebay and stock wrangler air filter off craigslit to do the Windstar Cowl Induction mod (hopefully will end up like the pic below)...we'll see. Not doing it for performance, since I'll be getting rid of my AFE Stage 2 intake; but it will give me the perfect space for my secondary fuse box....whoop whoop!

Never heard of the windstar mod. Im not a huge fan or snorkels and I think CAIs dont belong on jeeps, Id consider this tho.

Time to google.

haha, I can't argue with you. It definitely seems to be a topic that upsets a lot of people for some reason, almost every thread that I read started out with really good discussions and turned into an argument.

I did the afe stage 2 intake install, and it sounded cool but I really couldn't tell a difference (not that I was really expecting or checking it), but hey....it sounded cool...haha.

I've been debating an auxiliary fuse box for a long time, actually have a couple mods I have in the garage and haven't done because I don't want to mess with the wiring until I got this figured out. So I bought the same fuse box i already have, and now just needed to find the space....and this mod is it.

The mod is taking a stock intake off of a Ford Windstar minivan circa 98-03 and modding it a bit to run into the cowling. It will give me that whole area to work with and a lot of hot sources for my additional lights, leds, amps, hid lights, cb...etc...etc you get the point.

Do they fit right in? I need to change out my dash but don't know if I want to order the 5.25 adapters.

Well I cut out two plates from 6mm MDF board, then cut out the middle and screwed the new speakers into this and then in. So not a straight swap but it only took about an hour to cut and fit, the hardest part for me was finding the positive and negative wires, I'm colour blind so it was a bit difficult, got there though.
I am very impressed with the speakers, will be getting a pair of 6x9s for my custom sound bar.

Yeah the fuse box isnt so much my issue. I used to do 12volt stuff for a living. I almost always have an accessories fuse box in my vehicles. Since I wheel the Jeep in a lot of mud its inside. I ran 4 gauge from the batter(fused with in 6inches of the batt) into a fused distro block which is mounted inside the center console between the shifter and coin cup. I never considered an actual stock fused box....I wonder why I didnt.

I like the intake mod because I have seen similar set ups on XJs for better/safer induction. Is the Windstar piece sealed well? The time I spend in the mud is the reason for my feelings about CAIs. Id I didnt I wouldnt mind em.

It shipped from Sparks, NV, but UPS tracking said it was out for delivery in Salt Lake.... today it is out for delivery in the correct town. Probably a mis-coded scan. Glad it appears to have ended up on the right truck. lol

Are these glasspacks? If so, I heard they may be loud and give a raspy sound.

OT: Took off my wide flares off, cut a little metal off, and bedlined the front fenders.

Yeah I had never heard a stock fuse box being used as the secondary and then halfway through buying all the stuff to build my own...it hit me. Picked it up for $50 on ebay in great shape, with fuses and relays.

All the stuff I read on the mod sounds good, but I won't know until i get the intake delivered about its quality. One 'cause for concern is water getting into the cowling, which is what I would worry about if was heavy into deep mud or river runnin'.
