Kit is pretty good for the money, IMO. It has carnauba wax in it. There are other kinds that last longer, I believe, but they cost a lot more.

Installed my aftermarket TJ switches and finally got around to putting in my Unity 360 spotlight that I snagged a while back.

Where'd you get those switches? Also what is involved in the install?

You take the blank plate out, then these slide right in the hole then wire up like any other switch

What did you do with the overdrive switch? Thanks for the link. I think I am going to get this.

That wasn't my post with the 4 switches in it...
My 99 is a 5 speed, I didn't have an overdrive switch to deal with

Yep, just like he said. Nice part about these switches is that they come with a pigtail connector. Now if you need to remove the switch bezel for any reason, all you have to do is unplug the connector rather than remove each individual wire like most switches.

If you don't see the switch label you want on the ebay store, send Craig a message. He has a lot of others that aren't listed on the site. He was very helpful. Lights, Universal switches items in on board air usa store on eBay!

TJ SE here so I didn't have an overdrive switch. But I'm Planning on removing that 4 switch bezel anyway and going with double, three switch bezels from an earlier model TJ.

Build here: Tjdreams Home Page

I'll need additional switch space once my lockers are installed.

Well, the other day I went to Superlift ORV park... Once I got home, I found out that I broke a sway bar link. Haha. Makes a good excuse for new ones now!

The rubber bushing came out the top of it.

Gathered parts today.... I'm preparing to undue an e-fan mod. Like a dufus I did not keep the old stuff. Shroud from dealer $120, fan clutch$43, dealer wanted $111 for fan blades... R U kidding me. I've seen lots of threads from you auto/ac TJ owners out west with over heat issues. Some guy discovered that the blades and clutch from a explorer fit. I'm trying a different route, will update when I discover if it works or not. Just left Pick-A-Part with a 7 blade fan from a 93 Grand Cherokee with 4.0 engine. Now will see if it fits fan clutch I just picked up at AA

Well a wasted $10. The grand fan blade is smaller in diameter and it won't wit the TJ fan clutch, at least newer single nut.

Today I put a folding cargo carrier on, new Quadratec floor mats, and installed a new Smittybilt SRC bumper w/ D-Rings.

My 2001 Sahara TJ came with 31" Mud Terrains (Really hate those loud tires!), so I'm gonng to lift it 2". Next week it's a 2" Skyjacker lift.

Finished up my Top Hoist

I bought a hand winch and rope from HF and various pulleys ,eye hooks, cable clamps and quick chain links from Lowes

Installed the winch on the wall

Put 2 eye hooks with a piece of galvanized pipe between them as a "pulley'' to get me around the corner of the wall to ceiling

Then put the 6 eye hooks and pulleys on the ceiling(making sure to hit a floor joist) also put the 4 eye hooks on the platform that used to be the hardtop dolly. i also ran the rope through every pulley.

I used a small D rind to transition from the rope to the winch hook.

Last i put my summer windows and soft top on the platform and raised it to the ceiling, I put 2 ratchet straps on to keep it up in case something fails.

I had originally thought the same thing, as that's where it is on my cruiser. After sizing it up though, I didn't want the handle sticking out in the drivers area. The windshield header worked out great. Its up and out of the way on the inside, and the light is much more versatile being higher up and in the center.

I'm actually thinking about getting that. For now, gotta be cheap. I made Lowe's quick disconnects for now.. XD Works. But I'll eventually get antirock.

Just how much do the hardtops weigh...anyone know?
I occasionally wrestled a fiberglass topper with glass windows for a midsize truck 6' bed by myself and it sucks. Getting too old to want to do it anymore. I believe about 200 pounds for the topper. Jeep top can't be too much different I bet. I would definitely get a winch if I go that way.
