Then, I noticed that after painting my headlight bezels, there was still a little bit of chrome still on the Jeep. The door locks. So I masked them off and hit them with a couple coats of flat black.

And while I was at it, I found a place to keep my shovel and hatchet. Just used some nylon chord I had laying around and tied them to the vents on the inside of the tailgate.

i just mounted my shovel like that. and im going to paint my locks as well

Finally finished wiring my new sound system in. 2 12 inch subs, 8 6 1/2s, 2 4x 8s, and 2 tweeters. Me n my neighbor built a custom box to hold everything. Sounds awesome. Figured its getting too cold in Virginia to have the top down, might as well find another way to enjoy. Now a good wash n wax is in order.

Took the top off to see if I could find where the new water leak is. The corner of the bulb seal was pulled away from the windshield frame, used weatherstripping adhesive and glued it back down. We'll see if I fixed it when it rains again. With my luck, it'll really pour in now

What'd I do today? Took the driver's side door apart to fix the connector rod that attaches to the inner door handle. It works presently, but I'll have to see how it fares long term.

Yesterday, I did the budget safari mirror mod from 4x4xplor.com.

i mean take the plug out and the hole that the plug is clogging put the wires through then put the plug back in so you dont have to cut the plug and it will still be waterproof.

Extended the Tire Bumpstops on the Tailgate. Used 2" machine bolts and 4 semi hard Hockey Pucks reshaped with a foam saw. Now my 33x10.50 r15 tire with 15x8 Crager soft 8's rest up against the rubber stops.

Hey, so I have another question about that bumper. I was looking in my 4wheel parts catalog that came in the mail and saw that it's only $250? Seems super cheap for a front bumper. I guess theres less to it then some others, but it seems like everyone still charges an arm and a leg for bumpers. Is it pretty solid? and you can mount a winch to it right?

i went to 4 wheel parts the store and looked at them myself they are not sold but built with 3/16ths metal i do believe and yes i do believe you can mount a winch straight to it. if not they sell winch mounts for 70 bucks that are very nice

Problem with 2005 Wrangler TJ 4.0 automatic LWB

Hi there , I have a 2005 jeep wrangler unlimited LWB 4.0L , my car has the following problem ( has only 30000miles ) sometimes gauge light in the dashboard goes on or evv. also the engine light , and throttle goes up by himself accelerating it up to 1000/1500 rpms or slightly more , does the same when i put in or R ( i have an automatic gearbox) , could it be a faulty PCM or something else in your opinion`? tried to reset errors on computer but after a while driving around it starts doing same thing again ; btw once i it starts these troubleshooting going up with the throttle by himself the engine sounds becomes strange and different as if something vibrates inside the engine or burns. thx

sounds like a bad tps, have the codes read at autozone to know for sure. The tps is a 35 dollar part and only takes a few minutes to swap out.

My xj did this when I started it I pressed the gas to the floor real quik then let off and it fixed it. Lol I don't recommend this in your situation bc my xj was a wheel only rig yours is a dd I assume. I would go to a autozone or a mechanic and have them run the codes and tell you what it is. It prolly is the tps.

I'm so jealous. I gotta get one in mine one of these days. My daughter thinks it's funny though. She'll put her Dr. Pepper in there and be like "It's a cupholder!"
