I replaced my water pump and figured out the routing of the serpentine belt for this export model. I also changed the Windshield wipers, installed Bestop Element doors and mounted the Hi-Lift jack to the hood. I am working on trimming my fender flares to make them flat and am going to paint the dash flat black. I think my wife is getting jealous of all the time I spend on the Jeep.

Rode in to work this morning with a very wet hiney, because we had a terrible thunderstorm last night, about 3" of rain fell.my soft top is folded down behind the rear seat, and my bikini top has an opening between hard door window frame and sportbar about 3-4" wide.I have a pop-up canopy/shade that I park under in the evenings, just in case of rain. While I was sleeping, the gale-force winds blew the canopy half way across my 3 acres of land!Woke up to that, and have had a soggy bottom all day.I never knew how much water cloth seats can hold!

Went to the Dealership, got four 5" long Mopar filters for my Jeep plus 6 NGK sparkplugs.

Used my new (purchased last evening) 17mm HEX insert socket to remove the fill and drain plugs from the NV3550 transmission and changed the fluid using Mopar synthetic transmission fluid designated for that transmission.

While at the Dealership I was asking about the power steering box. The Parts Guy said somebody with a 2006 TJ had just called about the same box. There's quite a backorder on those so that's indicative of a problem. A new one is over $1000 , I can get one of those for about $800.00. Remanufactured units are from $360.00 to $540.00.

For your information, the TJ steering boxes from 2003 onward are no longer Saginaw, so they are harder to find and more expensive.:(

Went Jeeping with my sister Bec and our friends. Once on the trail we didn't climb out much for taking photos. But we did get a photo of a dead skunk! very cool. The skunk died peacefully on a rock in the sun. Isn't that nice. :)

This is only the 2nd time I've been wheeling in two years. It was two years ago (Nov 11th, 2008) that I rolled the jeep and twisted the frame pretty bad. Here it is after Hunter and Absolute fixed it up. I want to hit the trails more often now. Todays weather was great! Just two jeeps and no breakdowns and it went very smooth. Alot of fun.

I think my friends took some more photos of us on the trails. and if I can get them I will post them up in the trail section.

I got all excited for my first off road adventure this morning. I loaded up my TJ with all the required equipment (Shovel, tow rope, jack, tire pressure gauge, 12"x12" board) so I could get my Over Sand Vehicle Permit for Assateague Island here in MD. I drove almost 3hrs 130 miles to Assateague and excitedly walked into the Rangers station with my TJ's registration and my money. After filling out paperwork the Ranger then informed me that no vehicles were allowed to drive on beach today due to flooding. WTF! I then drove into Ocean City and had me some Thrashers boardwalk fries and drove another 130 miles and 3 hours home lol. YAY

Undercoated the frame. Smells really bad.
What product did you use? I have an 8 gallon compressor and rustproofing sprayer kit (gun, wands, etc). I sprayed the inside of the frame, other boxed in areas, along the perimeter of the underside, up in back of the tail lights, and in the doors last week. I still have to spray the brake lines and some other areas I didn't cover. I used Rust Check - Coat and Protect which is the most reputable product in this neck of the road salt area.

What did I do with my Jeep today?

Well, got up early this morning and drove 3.5 hours one way from South Western PA to Winchester Virginia (not in my Jeep) to buy some stock Jeep alloy wheels. Damn Craigs list. Makes you do crazy things. I have only had my jeep for 2 weeks and already have 3 sets of tires and wheels.......should start a tire shop with all of the wheels that I have around here now.......LOL. Don't know why but I really like these "stockers." If nothing else I can use them as my "spare" set when I get a fourth set...........
