Bet it rides better, is quieter and has more power after that work. Something psychological happens after a vehicle is recently cleaned up.

Bought a new to me 97 TJ on Sunday. Today I went outside a few times to stare at it. Put up an ad for rear seat belts, and off to SOS to register and get a plate for it tomorrow.

Lets see while I was home on R/R in October,

1. Put new pads and rotors on it.
2. Put in a new all metal radiator, and replaced all the hoses
3. Cleaned the fuel system and IAC,
4. Changed the plugs
5. Replaced cracked emissions lines and installed new rubbers and elbows in Valve Cover
6. Oil Change
7. Re-aimed the KC Lites and installed a new bulb.

I actually got to drive it for the first time in a week!

Just got back from vacation out of state. Took it to pick up the dog at the kennel.

Let's see, changed the fluid in both diffs, ditto the T case, flushed the rad/cooling system, still have to remove the flush and put coolant in it tomorrow. Oh and installed a aux trans cooler. Which meant yanking the rad, slipping back the condenser, removing the center support, fabbing brackets, and plumbing it all up. While I was in there I added a screen behind the grill to help protect the vitals.

Today was an average day. Working on the wife's rig testing a HD fan clutch and 7 blade fan so I swapped in the HD clutch. Noticed a small bit of oil seepage, so I tightened up all the oil pan bolts which then led to noticing some weeping at the trans pan.

Trans pan bolts were all loose due to the crap felt style gasket I used, so I went to drop the belly skid which is a raised style from Currie so I could access the back bolts on the pan.

One bolt spun a nutsert off in the frame, the other 5 came out fine. Neither flat head allen holding the trans mount to the skid would turn, so I had to weld hex nuts to them to get them out. After that, I holesawed a 2" hole to access the top of the nutsert that spun, reached in with some Kroil and needle nose vise grips and got the piece to release its death grip on the bolt.

Now the skid is finally removed, fix the pan bolts, swap in a new trans mount, clean everything up and then made a nut plate for the frame mess. Welded it inside the frame, patched the hole back in good as new and then reinstalled the belly skid. All that was after putting on a new Currie trackbar which required removal of the old one, 1 lower control arm and the driver side spring so I could do some work to the mount. Got that all fixed and then rotated the tires.

By then it was lunch time and after lunch we tackled dialing in the Fox Shocks on the 04 which consisted of pulling springs and what not to get full extended lengths, full compressed lengths and bumpstop heights.

All in all, an easy day.

Pssshhh, is that all you did? Slacker!!!!

I painted my Savvy UA Semi-gloss black. Then went over to a friends house and helped him with his front D60 install.

All in all, a fun day.

You guys got nothin on me!

Drove to taco bell, got two baja beef chalupas, drove back wafting in the sweet sweet aroma, parked, and then devoured both in less then a minute. Boom! With the ride in my beautiful jeep (topless by the way).

Took it up a tough pass in So. Colorado, got blackberry cobbler and ice cream (for my wife and I) then we took it and got it really muddy but a huge rainstorm came along and mostly cleaned it. I think the jeep enjoyed the day, topped it off by meeting a black bear on the trail and we had a staring contest, I blinked and drove off.

I went to get gas in the Jeep today. Then I saw speeding cop cars and decided to help out the local law enforcement. As the perp weaved in and out of traffic, the cops lost control and found themselves stuck in the mud. After, I caught up and ran over the suspects vehicle (a hummer) and turned him over to the authorities. I then went back and pulled all of the cop cars out of the mud.

Afterwards I heard some officer speak of some missing girl in the mountains and that they were having trouble traversing the terrain. I told them I would help - as my house was on the other side and it would be quicker to go through than around the mountains. As I drove through I spotted something on the ground by a nearby tree and got out to inspect. As I moved the hood back I realized it was the missing girl. She startled awake and I extended my hand to help her up. Her eyes lit up when she saw the Jeep and she jumped in the front seat.

After driving her home, I made my way back to my house - my day finally over. As the sun faded behind the tall trees I walked past my Jeep to my door. But something was missing... ...I left the gas cap on top of the pump. But alas, that is another story for another day...

bout to beat the sway bar back over so it stops rubbing the passenger side frame before it goes to far and busts the brake line.
then I'm gonna order her some stuff and take her through the mud on the way home, silly wife TOLD ME she was going to clean up the jeep on her day off. I don't think I'm being mean by doing this, rather helping her to see the fruits of her labors. No one wants to spend the day washing something and not REALLY be able to tell how clean you got it.
