Tried to take my milk jugs off today...had a terrible time, I figured out my screws are rusted to those metal clips...so now I can't get them off without breaking them and they barely went back on. Not good

Windstar Cowl Intake

Did the windstar cowl intake conversion this weekend. Gave me a good amount of space to work with for my aux fuse box ('04 stock fuse box).

Drove it to work yet again, still more fun to drive than any other vehicle I have access too. Also realized I don't need to go wheeling often since damn I205 west is bumpier than any trail I've been on.

Mine just kind of ripped thru the plastic. The screws and clips stayed on tho, rusted like yours. Nothing a pair of channel locks couldnt fix tho!! :-)

Wheeled. And towed a broken f150 out of the woods. And found a new play area.

Finally mounted the Warn Zeon winch that came for Christmas. FYI, Anyone mounting this winch on a "Rock Proof" bumper. Be prepared to lengthen the mounting slots on the bumper to get it to fit...

Love those uni-bits!!!

I changed out my pinion yoke, and seal with a new one. My old yoke had groves wore in it, so hopefully that was why it was leaking. Also changed trans fluid and transfercase, and rear end fluid. Much quieter now...

Painted my Grade 8 bolts black, used them to install my OEM tow hooks. The hooks took a while to find, the right bolts took forever to get, and the paint took forever to dry...but they are finally on!

More fun with Bedliner today. I just did my gas cap and bezel though. The only black pieces that haven't been hit yet are the rockers, door surrounds, and rear bumper/hitch but I will probably get to them sooner rather than later.

Before

After (got a little dirty from my hands during the reinstall.

Nice.
Are the rear threads the same as the front? 1/2-13 I think?

Nope. For mine the rear threads were Metric: M12 - 1.75mm.

Really weird that they were Metric?! And on a Jeep??

But yes the front ones were: 1/2in. - 13. I used 2 1/2 inch length grade 8 bolts from Home Depot for the front. And then the rear ones were: 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches long I think, they were class 8.8 strength. I also bought M12 washers to go with the back ones.

Today I went and saw my TJ sitting all lonely in the shop. Because some dumb lady hit me last week and messed EVERYTHING up. Good news is I should have her back Friday!

Most of the factory hardware is metric. The bolts for our doors are 13mm

Well, all the bolts I've found we're standard/customary. But I guess I just missed all the Metric ones.

I just think that that's odd...I mean it's a Jeep. Shouldn't it all be in Customary?

All car manufacturers in "America" switch over to metric hardware in I'd guess the late 80s (rough guess). Honestly don't know why but Jeeps are the biggest PITA to guess sizes on because they could be metric (70%) standard (10%) torx (20%) so it's all a guessing game.
