What I did today...

I took my new Jeep out on it's first mudding trip out here in San Diego, CA. Would love to meet up with some other Jeepers to ride some trails!

97 06 Jeep TJ Wrangler Armor Rock Slider Rocker Guard Nerf Bar Running Board | eBay

I like that the Body Armor ones just bolt on. But I like the price and coverage of the ones off eBay. But I thought if I got the B.A ones, about bedlining, or plasti dipping a section down the side to prevent some scuff marks, etc.

Any thoughts, comments?

And also... does anybody on here have these? Or are they just a waste of money?

Body Armor TJ-4322 - Body Armor Tub Rails for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

Thanks for the input
I like the tub armor. But there smaller then the fenders so it doesn't really do much

There's about 1" of frame rail that can not drain if any water or sediment got in there. So it always rust out from the inside. I drilled two 1" holes (hole saw) and never looked back. Now everytime when I wash it I put the hose nozzle into one of the upper frame holes and watch all the water and crud wash out the bottom

Really good idea. Looks I'll add that to the to-do list.

Installed new bumpers. Next commission check includes winch, sliders, and new carpet along with 2 new tires to have same size spare on matching wheel (which I have.) and before the bashing on Chinese knockoff bumpers starts, I have to tell you this. I took these to 2 of my Fab shop customers to look over and both said there was no way they could make these for this kind of money. The quality of the welds is not something they would let out of their shop, but we did tweek them a little bit, mostly just a little bit of welding, but both said they should hold up fine. The main reason other than cost, was this was the style I wanted. Everyone has the 2x4 rear with tire carrier and wasn't for me. Hard core rock crawling? Not for me although I appreciate watching them do it. My money is too hard to come by to beat my shit up, but we do some good trails that take a little more jeep than stock. This is my 6th jeep including CJ's and TJ"s and an old beater wagon with a flat six I took hunting in places I probably should not have gone but it was fun. Anyway the pics from today.

Love the LJ , what kind of hardtop is that? I like that sliding window and 3rd brake light. And can you move the spare lower? That thing covers your whole back window that would bother me.

Ps. Why bother with that spare tire anyways? You can't drive with that thing it's way too small.

Spare is just what I had. I already have the matching wheel, and new tires coming next week. I don't know what the correct height will be until the 35 spare is back there, so this is just for now. I don't mind the height, as an old truckdriver, the mirrors are more important. Which is something a whole lot of people need to learn btw. Also the spare has to be high enough for license plate visibility and I still have to cut a hole and install a light to illuminate it kind of like a pickup bumper has.

I welded my hi-lift mounts to the bottom of my tire carrier.
Then welded mounts to the inside of the hi-lift mounts, picture number 3, so that I could mount some additional lights.
Pic number 5 is a light mount for side lights and a 3rd stop light that will mount over the tire and bolts into the top of the tire carriers pretapped holes
