I'm looking at buying the kit and it comes with three gallons, so whatever that equals in cans.

Last night I was going to take the jeep to get the codes read, my wife is said that it has been on for the past few days. I get in start backing out of the driveway and there's no check engine light, I think I'm going to buy 1 of the Bluetooth readers and the Tourqe app to be able to read codes myself...

Replaced the outside shifter boot and shifter knob. Had to use washers on the shifter threads to get the shift pattern on the new knob to line up correctly.

There must be a way to get the codes by turning the key on a number of times or something. It's like a puzzle. Hopefully someone else knows the trick.

My z71 you had to like turn the key half way and press the brake 3 times. Sounds dumb but maybe try it idk.

You can usually turn the key
on off on off on but it doesn't work on 98 and 99

Hold down your tripometer button while you turn the key from acc to on 3 times and leave it in the on position on the third time. Don't let go of the tripometer. Gauges will sweep and odometer will count to 999999 and then display codes

That's just a cluster test and the code trick does not work on 98 and 99 as he stated.

I bought one of the lower end scan tools several years ago from Autozone... Man that thing has long since paid for itself.

Re: What I did to my TJ today

Turn the key on off on off on, and leave it with out starting. It will glass 3 sets of numbers and beep to match them. 12 is begin test, 55 is test finished. Your trouble code will be the middle middle number.

Re: What I did to my TJ today

It works on my 97, perhaps cycle the key 1 more time. I know there is a thread somewhere about pulling the codes.

I always saw Jerry's posts saying 98 & 99... I do know that it doesn't work on mine
So maybe it's 98-00?

Hmm well then it probably is 98-00. Hopefully you can get your codes read, aamco reads them free.

I've always read on here as well as other Jeep forums that it dosen't work on 98, 99, and SOME 2000 model years. I would guess that it was an early model / late model production thing.
