Be careful with it. My neighbor put his on when it was too cold, and it has shrunken on him. The velcro along the sides don't even meet anymore. He might be able to remove/reinstall it, but I think it did some permanent damage to the top... Good luck!

After I went for a short topless/ doorless ride, I put the soft top on and gave it a bath

I replaced the stock brake lines on the front with longer Stainless Steel braided lines. I also changed out the brake calipers.

I replaced the passenger front brake caliper and brake hose on my '06 LJ. Seized up on me yesterday. I've read that sometimes it's the caliper and sometimes it's the hose, so I just did both. My garage STILL smells like fried brake pad!

Went mudding and got stuck. My transfer case is going out and will be a pain to pay for (around $400) and finally got pulled out an hour after messing with it. But when I was at the car wash power washing the mud, two little boys poked their heads around the corner and kept saying it was so cool and it looked good dirty. Future jeepers!!

Did some wheeling. More mud than I usually go through, or like going through, but I had a blast! Also I got to use my recovery strap for the first time. Luckily I wasn't the one that was stuck

Gotta go wash it now!

Finally finished my speaker conversion. Did the soundbar and dash speakers last weekend (Kickers) and today I replaced the factory sub. The foam was so deteriorted the cone was not attached at the outer edges. Made a big difference. Here's the new sub all ready to go back in.

Did these spaces for my spare. Went to a 3.5 inch backspace, so ordered some new spare tire bumpers, trimmed them a little, and used some longer hardware to sandwich the old and new. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the strain on the tailgate.

Thanks brother. I really have no idea, I've read good and bad on its life cycle, so well just see. I have a touch up kit so I should be able to address small nicks.

Does adding spacers really help the tailgate? I've never heard of that

I thought they were just used to fit a wider tire.

To be perfectly honest, I am not really certain they help, but I chalk this one up to an ounce of prevention. If you consider the weight of the spare tire and the stress it places on the tailgate and hinges, especially if you thrash your Jeep (I don't), it certainly can't hurt to do this. I do have some friends whose tailgates started having issues shutting, etc. after they mounted larger tires on their stock carriers. Keeping it a little more stable and spreading the stress out across more of the tailgate and body (bottom bumper) might help. Or it might not.

Now if you want to talk about totally useless modifications, I am changing my interior lights to blue LEDs as soon as my package arrives. Can't wait, and for the life of me I don't know why. Perhaps I have reached the zenith of life's bell curve and am slipping down the other side.

That explains a lot of things.

I havent read a bad review on this product yet. post pics and let us know your experience with it.. am going to go with a frameless top, just dont know which one yet. Rampage looks to be the cheapest, but it also has more issues with it as well.

That isnt totally useless. its cheap and it will bring you some enjoyment plus make your Jeep more personal to you.. I am going to do the same thing with my LJ.. and in blue.. just havent pulled the trigger to order them yet.. am doing the dash and the inside lights. but leaving the hvac and shifter stock. am hoping it gives me some dimmability (is that a real word?) after the modification.

Bedlinered the flares, step, door handle on the passenger side Saturday. The spray can fell off the Jeep and broke the nozzle, so I installed the tow package too. Got more bedliner Saturday night and finished up the driver's side on Sunday. I love when we have nice weather

I know -- most of what we do is personalization. That was humor. I really am looking forward to it, but more importantly to my wife's reaction the first time she gets in after I do this. I have read reports both ways regarding dimming. You should be able to dim them, and the superbrightled page says they dim, but I guess I'll have to wait and see. Mine will be blue, too.
