Spend a few months waiting for a WARN deal to come along... Originally wanted the M8000 as it's battle proven - but with the ZEON only about 130 more with the discount - decided to just go for it... Also 1) rumors are the m8000 are being discontinued by end of year 2) the ZEON is a little better water sealed and 3) looks sweet!!!

As for what I did after dinner - just couldn't wait till the weekend...

Bought the new bumper with swing out tire carrier and hi-lift jack mount. And then the new spare tire... Ready for the next off road trip. If you need a solid bumper with lifetime guarantee, check out dirtworx in Corona, CA. Great bumper and price! Robert knows how to build them!

well after a fun day of trail riding, i headed home to to wash her up. half way back home (its only a 7 mile trip) i started to notice a faint noise, like the sound rusty brakes make when there used for the first time in a long while, but quieter. it sounded like it was coming from the rear. it wasn't when i braked though, it was at speed and cruising. i figured there was either some crud in the drums or i had a stick wedged in the parking brake cable. either way i know the shoes were getting thin and figured that they had finally bit the dust. upon arriving in my driveway i peeked underneath to see if my stick theory was right.

Nope. what i saw was axle fluid all over my rear-end. pinion seal failed. a quick check of fluid level showed i wasn't low, so that was a bit of a relief. i grabbed my jack, a couple of stands, a stethoscope, and set her up in the air idling in 4th. listening around i reassured my worst thought, bearings.

so how was your day?

I ordered this exact same bumper. Should be shipping out MONDAY per Robert. How did you prime and paint it? What did you use?

Does it matter what kind of starter you replace your old one with?

OEM would probably be the best choice, but any old one from your local auto store should do the job fine.

Mine will be bedlined this weekend. Nowhere near that bad, just surface rust.

I do like that bumper you got there.

I added a couple badges to the side. I saw them on a Toyota Tacoma and liked them, so I picked them up from a dealership.

I also added my new S-Pod console and the switch covers I got from OTRATTW. Now I'm working in getting the lights wired in.

It's just the cheapest smittybuilt one. I originally bought it for pulling stuff around on the farm. I can't complain about its strength yet it's pulled around trailers filled to the brim with hay, 4 horse trailers with a few cows, and the tractor when the battery dies
