I use a strap to hold the platform to the spare tire and then get in the Jeep and walk the top back on to the platform.
Its pretty easy and it gives me a place to store my windows, I have s black set for hardtop and a spice set for my soft top

I like it. How does it look further away? It is a nice, subtle highlight.

Painted the headlight rings, changed the oil. ran a can of seafoam through the intake to clean it out, detailed the Jeep (4 hours of clay, compound, and sealing the paint later its looking good, and LED dashlight change out (naturally one bulb was bad) Overall Jeep is looking good and driving better.

2 weekends ago I replaced my valve cover gasket! The first "Real" engine work I have ever done aside from oil and belt changes. Interestingly the one that was on it was just a rubber gasket, kinda crappy IMO. I ended up swapping it with this one:
Felpro/Valve Cover Gasket (VS50502R) | 1999 Jeep Wrangler 4WD 4 Cylinders P 2.5L SFI | AutoZone.com
(yeah, it's a 4 cylinder...) that comes with a nice aluminum piece in the middle for durability. No more oil leak! I think that it may have fixed a vacuum leak because now I don't lose speed going up hill and my fuel economy is a few mpg better! Yay!

Honestly nothing.. I just thought they made the jeep look lower than it is.. without them it looks taller.. like I have more clearance. They were really sturdy and held up really well.
Also if I did a bbl it would gave looked weird IMO.

I'm going to say this and I'm usually wrong because people by the knock offs of the cheap guys, but it looks like a smittybilt XRC to me.

Yes. Only thing is. I have quite a front end wobble at 55. Goes to the offroad shop in a couple days for 4.10's. I'll have him check it out.

You have the 4.0? I just added 3s to my 4-banger. It has 4.10s. Ya might wanna do what I did, and swap out the speedo gear.....or else you might get what I got.....79 in a 65 is a pretty good fine.

Yes I have the 4.0. A fresh one at that.
I'll change out the speedo gear once the regearing process is done. I don't drive much on the interstate anyway.

Yesterday, I used the 4wd for the first time on a steep, snowy hill, on my way to work. It was just slushy, wet snow and I had no need for it, but it was a good excuse to test it out.

Finally got both my front axel u joints in, my axles and wheels put all back together, and the brakes changed out on one side. I'm going back in the morning to finish my brakes on the other side and get my tires back on. Then we'll be back on and off the roads together! I'm so excited and proud of my self! I actually got sore from trying to take everything apart and get everything back together...
