Installed Rokemen front upper control arms on mine and a friends jeep today. The first CA was a major PITA because the bolt was off by a hair… took 45 minutes and a ratchet strap to be able to get that bolt in… After that the rest were a breeze since we used the ratchet strap before removing the old CA so there was zero movement when we pulled them. (maybe 15 minutes each)…
Then installed the procomp steering stabilizer I removed from my jeep last weekend onto my friends jeep to replace his stock steering stabilizer…
And wrapped up the day by washing and putting sealant on my jeep and 303’d the soft top. Shiny Jeep… Could be mistaken for a mall crawler now…

Anyone have any tips\advice on rear upper control arm installs? Doing that next weekend to complete the CA replacements…

All I did was go to Walmart and bought a bike brake cable and semi followed the instructions here.

Don't buy the dealer cable. Cost $45 and up.

Went for first topless road trip since I bought my Jeep too late last year for good weather. Saw lots of motorcycles. Approx. 10-15 jeeps but only 2 had the tops down.

Used heat gun on fender flares. They darkened up quite a bit and look good from 8-10 feet away. A little uneven when you get up close. I may try it again next weekend to see if I can even them up.

It helps keep some sun of my balding dome. I mostly just run with the top part over the front seats.

Made some custom fender tops for my front fenders that have started to rust a little. Cleaned it up and sealed it for a new body armor look.

I installed a Dynomax turbo muffler in place of the stock unit that had 87k miles on it. It just passed inspection but once I cut the tailpipe off, the muffler just fell on the ground. The pipe cracked apart right after the muffler clamp. Dunno how they passed that LOL.

I'm currently replacing the old lower arms with newer arms from an 06 with 18k miles on them. Might as well since I got em nearly free. After that I gotta tighten the serp belt to stop the squealing. According to my belt tester, it's around 70 lbs when it should be waaaaay tighter. Once that's done, new door locks from Bestop to replace the broken ones on my soft doors (warranty). Busy night...

Last night I finished up most of the cutting and drilling. Today I will get the nuts and washers for the JK bumper to be mounted to the stock bumper and get it on there. Looks pretty good thus far IMO.

Yes, you can have all three on at the same time. However, it does have to be in safari mode because the windows require the same rail as the duster. I took off the OEM top, put on the spiderwebshade and duster first. Drove it around and just love it. The wife loves it too. Huge difference in the amount of wind coming in the cab of the Jeep too.
Then the next day, with the help of my friend Mike, I got the Rampage frameless top on, safari style. We are expecting some rain here in a couple of days, so I am going to run this way until spring showers are over, then going to remove the Rampage and run just the spiderwebshade and duster.
Its a real clean and simple look.
The duster was super easy to install. The Rampage was a biatch to get on but it started to stretch and loosen up a little bit right away when we had to make an adjustment. Its just the way they are, really tight and then loosen up over time.
I will then reinstall the Rampage in the fall, safari style until it gets cool and then go full windows for the late fall and winter.
I left the spidershade on because it says you dont have to remove your it to install your top and I wanted to test it.. they were right. I have the SW2, since I have an LJ and wanted to make sure it was as long as I wanted. Nice upside is that it acts as a headlight dimmer in your rearview mirror.

The other day I was polishing the jeep with a random orbital & some very light polishing compound. Accidentally brushed against a fender flair, & it looked good. So i ran the polisher over them all, really made them look great. The weird extension things under the doors are in bad shape so it didn't bring those back to life, but sure made the fenders look good with minimal effort.

Today I took off my fender flares and sprayed them with 2 cans of rubberized bedliner undercoat and 2 cans of rubberized bedliner top coat. Right now im just waiting on them to dry! Pics will be up soon! Tomorrow im straight piping my baby, chopping the muffler and replacing it with exhaust pipe to keep the stock bend out the back. I love the sound of the raw exhaust, if you dont, dont diss it. Its my Jeep, not yours.

My driver set is so worn down I'm afraid I might fall out (half kidding) does anyone have any recommendations for replacement seats? I would prefer a race style seat but I can afford the corbeaus.
