Went for a ride topless today then when I got home I decided to fix my upper slider window.

The outside trim piece had broken clips so it would flop in the wind...
I took a solder iron and melted it back together

Then I took a heat gun to the top of my door panel, it was starting to turn white like the front edge here

After a few mins of heat.
A heat gun will fix interior sun fade?!?!?!? :O ...my world has just been flipped upside down. I have never once thought about that! I've Done it to exterior plastics on cherokees and stuff but never once crossed my mind for interior.

Upgraded the springs to 4" Currie's, and the shocks to FOX 2.0 IFP's, then the rear track bar to an adjustable Rubicon Express and bracket. Such a nice stance and better ride!

Pulled the carpets and seats, spent 3 days grinding surface rust from the undercarriage and covered the top and bottom of my baby with 2 gallons of herculiner. Oh yeah and the faded fender flares too!

this weekend i spent drilling out my rear seat bolts...... yes all 4 of them snapped off.... but got them drilled out and bolted in. did some wiring as well, bought some Hella foglights and mounted them and rewired my trailer wiring. went topless most the weekend, mainly cause its easier (and cooler) to work in the back with the top off. and got some thick rubber mat material (truck bed mat) and cut it to bolt into the rear cargo area. havent got it completely mounted yet but ill put pics up when i do! also had some fun with Plastidip! thats some fun stuff!!!!! was almost tempted to paint all of her but had to hold myself back.

Started pulling crap apart and cutting and all that good stuff to Mount my power inverter into my center consul.

Drilled holes to mount the inverter on the inside wall of the consul. Its kinda of heavy but seems like it will hold ok.

Then had to line up and cut out the holes to mount the sockets. 1 in the front along with the power switch and 2 in the back of the consul.

Still have to finish extending the wires to reach and wrapping them so there not exposed.

Hardest part is figuring out how I'm gonna cover/hide the small circuit board that attaches to one of the sockets.

Hopefully I can finish up tonight and get everything installed and hidden.

This is how they should come from the factory.

Just a thought -- is that inverter going to overheat inside the console? Something to keep an eye on.

yea I did think about that I will probably be placing some ventilation holes or something on the other side of the box. And will definitely be keeping an eye on it. Worse cause I have some PC Fans I could rig up that could help with the ventilation.

I painted my old, faded fender flares with Rustoleum Bed Liner. Lots of time consuming prep and had to spray them outside between wind gusts but it layed out great. Hope it lasts for the amount of work it was.

Oh yeah....and when I took my passenger side front ff off I decided to pick at the small paint bubble that was there! Guess what...it was rotted through! New fender is on its way. If any of you are in the NY area and in need of a TJ passengers front fender that needs a little rust repair PM me and its yours.

drove it to the stealership to see if i could get a replacement diff cover-plug. (mine is leaking and has needed to be replaced for some time now. they didnt have any in stock. im just gonna order one online.

so... dont hate on me...but while i was there i figured i would ask to test drive a JK. im planning an engine swap this summer for my tj because im tired of being underpowered. so i just figured since i was there, i would see what the new ones are all about.

i gotta say, the AC, and smooth ride/seats are really nice. but thats about all that really stood out to me. it was a very quiet ride too. (we had the top on.) but it didnt really feel any more powerful than mine. yeah, it had a bit more pickup in 4th, but i didnt really love it. the only thing that REALLY stood out to me was how smooth the clutch was. when i got back in mine to drive home, i thought "DAMN. has my clutch always been this stiff?" but i guess thats how they sell vehicles. they wouldnt do test drives if people didnt buy cars as a result of thoughts like that. (plus, i could put a new clutch in my tj if i really wanted it to be that smooth.

bottom line - im way too proud to get a JK. My TJ is my baby, and shes getting a new 4.0L this summer. end of story. lol. i didnt think enough to give the guy a fake phone number, but when he calls me, i guess ill just tell him sorry but i decided to keep my baby and go with the engine swap. plus, i dont really have the money to buy a new jeep even if i wanted to. haha
