Had a busy weekend! Installed a Skyjacker 4" lift kit/ new 33x12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires/ hd steering stabilizer /Rubican Express front disconnects and scored a nice stinger bumper ( off craigslist for $150!!) . 8 hrs labor + skinned knuckles+ sore back.....but big smiles now. All this accomplished (except tire mounting) in the garage with my two sons help, one of which had his 16th birthday on Friday. Got his Permit on Friday so he is "jacked up" for school Monday morning.

Grill Blinkers

Since adding the Poison Spyder Defender Fenders, I only have had the small LED blinkers. Today I added 2" LED blinkers to the grill area to make it similar to the JK or old CJ style lights.

What are the bolted black pieces where the fender flares are supposed to be and where did you get them

Where did you get those lights? I want to do the same thing on mine. I recently put a JK front bumper on it and think it would be cool to add the blinkers like that too.

Finally got around to installing my new add-ons that have been sitting in my garage for the past week: a Warn VR 8000 and Bestop bumper (4x4 Narrow Front Bumper). I bought a grill guard to go with it, but it is on backorder until the end of May so I’ll probably post pics of that when it arrives.

As for this install, it was really easy. I was surprised that my 12 year old bumper bolts came out so easily. I took the advice from prior threads and banged a hammer on the bolts before attempting to loosen. I also added a touch of WD-40 before and after. The only hang up with this install was with my license plate. I didn’t realize that I needed to install that before mounting the bumper onto my Jeep. If any of you end up getting this bumper, make sure you mount your winch and license plate before installing the bumper or else you’ll end up having to do double work like I did!

Rotated my tires, touched up the black paint on the rims while I was at it. I also left the chrome center caps off. I think it looks much better. Now I just need to either buy some black lug nuts or rattle can these. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Bought a rubicon suspension for my Sahara.... Got bout a inch and a half lift, and handles ALOT better! (Old bushings were GONE) and made my own quick disconnect SB end links for about 8 bucks. Bought the pins/washers/clips at tractor supply and Sofar (100miles) they've held up great!

Was forced into redoing the 4wd shifting linkage.

I hadn't bothered to change out the lowering bracket when I shortened my body lift from 2" to 1" so it was at an angle. Ended up popping out of one of the brackets while wheeling. Took it out and drilled new holes. Everything perfect now!!!

I figured so. But if not I was going to see if you wanted to go wheeling just to make sure. Ha ha

Bedlined my tub, removed stock side steps, fender flares, scrubbed up the rust and primed ready for the body work to be done. Made a stubby bumper for the front.......
Pulled out of my driveway and a bird slams into my windshield, shattering it

I hate mondays.

Not my specific choice of words, but same relative meaning. Looking at $200 to get it replaced, and that's hopping the border to Maine. NB prices are between $250-300.

Bought and ordered a Bestop No-drill header and Bestop's Spice strapless safari top. $138 with free shipping and should be here soon, it's warm enough here in TX so I had to finally get a safari top.

Apparently I pay $2800 a year for jack all.... This is my first year of Canadian insurance and I've had my backside spanked for sure. First off they wouldn't take into account my British driving history (8 years no insurance claims!!) So I'm effectively getting new driver status which is serious BS!!
I hate insurance companies, and sure as eggs are eggs I won't be using wawanesa ever again..... Crap, I thought British insurance companies were scoundrels.

Depends on the state you live in.. Like in Mass if you have comp coverage your windshield is replaced for free, no matter your deductible..

Picked up an insta-trunk, charcoal carpet section behind the front seats, factory switch panel with all three switches (fog, wiper, defrost), airbag switch thing that goes in the console, and two battery hold down jbolts all for $40. Not a bad day at all IMO.

By the way, if you do this mod... Use a 2 1/8" hole saw because the rubber grommet requires the extra space. After cutting the 2" I had to file the edges to get the light to fit in.

I can't even find an instatrunk for that much here, let alone the rest of that stiff. Nice score.

Installed my new front bumper which is now awaiting a winch and lights, rotated tires and changed all my lugs to Gorillas

Sketched out my paint scheme, now I have a bunch of OEM parts to sell.
