Thinking of replacing the hood hold downs. Which ones did you go with?

Made a grab handle. Think it will work okay. Going to make a couple more to go in the back by the soundbar.

Swapped out the left outer tie rod end, put on the rugged ridge grab handles, had the tires balanced.

Alignment and Safari top on tap for the weekend.

Got around to checking out the noise from the engine after stupidly driving into this last weekend:

I had already checked the diffs and transmission. No water got in. The noise turned out to be the idler pulley and a cracked exhaust manifold. I'm guessing the cold water caused it to crack. I got off lucky.

I went with a JVC unit with Bluetooth. It syncs to my iPhone for all my music and when the phone rings there is a mic on the steering column and the other voice comes thru the speakers. Very handy when you have a manual transmission. Just saying. Plus it's as loud as you want so you can hear even with the top off. Ha ha

Yeah I've been going back and forth between a few units. I started with a basic unit then thought aux and usb inputs would be great, then thought Bluetooth, then from that to an HD unit is not much more. Next thing I know I looking at $200 units :-/

Looks great. Have you had a chance to remove the sides & rear to run as a safar? Is there much flapping in the rear? I'm looking to replace my old top & my beatup safari. This looks like a possible one replacement solution.

Which Kenwood head unit did you buy? I'm looking at going in this direction, along with a Kenwood amp. The Pioneer units are too flashy for an old man like me. Need something that doesn't scream "look at me."

installed a spice color Bestop Trextop NX. It's a nice top...

Also found the original Sahara decals and Wrangler decals and put those back on (the the previous owner took them off).

Now it looks like a proper 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition!
