Changed the valve lifters on my 4 banger. Took longer than I planed with the use of a magnet instead of the proper pull tool. Much quieter now and no valve tap.

Took a long backroad drive through 4 counties in WNC with the kids. Its wild how much they love to just ride around in the TJ.

I pulled my top and doors (anyone know a way to remove the hardtop without it being a pain in the arse for one person, I don't have a garage) went on a 2 hour ride into the country, shot our Scar 5.56 all day at exploding targets, then drove 2 hours back.

got the new 4.0 all installed, and plugged back in and fired the engine up for the first time! ITS ALIVE!!!!
BUT....the power steering pump is apparently cracked and shot to hell, because the second it fired and the system pressurized, a cloud of super fine power steering mist exploded from the pump and covered all of the crap in the engine compartment that ive been cleaning up in fluid. -.-
wouldve been nice to know i needed a pump before that mess. ill pick up a new one tomorrow, and if thats the only problem to sort, ill be flushing the coolant system, putting in the rest of the fluids, and slapping the fenders back on!

just gotta get a rear driveshaft and ghetto-rig the exhaust till i have money to get a catback. (looking at the dynomax kit)

SO EXCITED!

I re-bedlined my interior! The rustoleum bedliner I put on in November had already chipped a lot, so I just put down Duplicolor bed coating, if that first work then it's on to duplicolor bed liner at $15 a spray can!

I found half doors yesterday and decided that I need to keep my dog from falling overboard. I stopped at the hardware store and picked up a U-Bolt for 2.5" pipe, 4' of stainless 2/0 chain, 2 clips, and some hardware. The U-bolt fits into the plugged holes that are behind the transfer case and are on either side of the parking break cable. I have no Idea what they are for, but they saved me from having to drill more holed into the tub. I drove to some hiking trails so I could test it out on the way. It worked great.

I cheated on her. Rented a JK Unlimited while here in Mississippi. They had an Xterra and the Wrangler in the executive aisle at National. It was a sign. I grabbed the Wrangler and coworker grabbed the xterra. The jku is nice! If I could afford to purchase new I would consider it. Lots of trunk space and rides awesome. Can't justify spending so much on a vehicle that I plan on having top off most of time. Would be afraid to get it wet.

I did the duplicolor to change the color of my line x and it works great.

I love the SCAR, I've had my wrangler about 4 months now though and well so far its a money pit so I'm holding off on new play toys and trying to slowly build my jeep first.

National Go Topless Day, Wilmington, NC

I took my Jeep (yeller one) out to the beach with about 70 other jeeps. Wilmington's first go topless day and definitely not the last! great time/camp out/perfect weather
