That was cool, I posted and you post edited. The lights are awfully big but not bad. All looks like your tailgate might hit on passenger side

Put new bumper and tire carrier on the jeep and have a new rampage frameless soft top to put on just waiting for it to worm up to help it stretch better. I'm hoping by Saturday to have it on.

Used this forum to diagnose a strange wire from PO built a Dollie for my half doors and tops so they are all kept in one place without damage and placed it on a old bread dollie makes it great moving everything in garage or driveway. Glued up the mount for driver side sun visor since it broke in half. Installed clips for my mag lite and did some other too small to remember tasks on my jeep. Granted this is during the whole week. Damn I never thought I would ever miss work. Have been out of work since Feb.

Holy crap two in one day!

My jeep was lifted with a kit that might as well have been 4 coils and a good luck note. Luckily things have lasted this long and I know what I have to do to improve things. Hopefully I can get to them before a catastrophic failure occurs.

Went to get my A/c checked out because I need it for my long drives when I have my English bulldog with me (they don't do well in heat with breathing). Mechanic there was cool and narrowed it down to a bad compressor. I came home and with the help of a little WD-40 and a few taps on the front pulley all is well and I have A/C. Lol

Cause my lca failed I see it as time to get a new front end and ditch the pro comp lift

Some recent mods.

Well, I think the last time I put anything in the "what I did" thread, was after I threw on the BDS coils. But since then, I've added a Rubicon Express 1" MML, 1.25" JKS body lift, Mopar Rock Crawler winch bumper, Smittybuilt XRC8 winch, 1" Billet Aluminum wheel spacers, and a Rubicon Express adjustable rear track bar to re-center my rear axle and realign my left-to-right driveshaft angle.

The body lift and MML woulda' been a breeze, if I didn't break the VERY last body mount bolt, which took 3hrs to get out. And believe it or not, I ran into problems with the wheel spacers too! I loosened all 19 out of 20 lug nuts, until I got to the VERY LAST ONE, and broke my tire iron. My hacksaw and I then subsequently found out why everybody sells 1.25"+ wheel spacers, and not 1" spacers.

Also, the reason I'm posting this now- is because ordering my Zone front swaybar quick discos just now- reminded me to. Oh! I almost forgot: new windshield too! I took the attached pic of my Jeep in front of the Huey last week on Memorial Day weekend, and the front-on pic the day I installed the bumper/winch. Take it easy everybody!

Repairing Rusted Fender

I had some severe rust on my driver side fender, and I decided to do some patch work. The PO had a black diamond plate covering up the rust, so I removed the plate and saw how bad the rust was. I knew the rust was there when I bought it. What I did was cut out all the rust and sanded it away, then put a piece of metal and welded it in place of the hole , used bondo to try and get it as smooth as I can, then primer, and painted it. Tight on cash when I did it, I will see how long it lasts me , then just buy a new fender.

the JK guys use some small LEDs from Rigid that mount on top of your taillights that look really cool.. these dont strike me as a yes or nope.. kind of in the middle.. if your budget is really tight, then they are marvelous.. if you can afford the small leds, then I would go that way.. imho..

I agree 1000%, if my bumper and tire carrier rattled, it would drive me crazy. That is why I bought the bumper I did, it had a really good system of keeping the tire carrier tight.

As it is my DD, I ran a bunch of errands. Stopped by the shop that recently "fixed" my AC, told I have a leak in the compressor. Quoted $580 to replace, that will have to wait. While tooling around, stopped by the mechanic to get the oil leak looked at, diagnosed as a rear main seal leak, quoted $500. Not a good day for the Jeep
I guess the bright side is that neither of these needs to be fixed right away, but still a PIA...
I thought when I bought a Jeep the "Just empty every pocket" was for upgrades and mods, not maintenance. Wondering when the cash flow hemorrhage will stop...

Rear main seal is easy. Just takes time.

I think I have read that somewhere. A little freaked out about scratching something while removing the seal. Other than that, I think I could do it. I think the hardest part is starting the project
