Managed to get one of my JCR sliders installed on the driver's side. Man what a job it was.

So over the previous two weeks I've torn down the inside and sanded down the floor and sprayed in raptor Liner. Also I painted the seat mechanisms to get rid of rust. Then added a 5 channel soundstream amplifier to all four speakers with a 10" PowerBass sub. The amp is mounted to the floor behind the rear seat with a shelf mounted above it so it don't loose storage space. All the wires are running along the side of the jeep through a conduit. Then I used duplicolor blue vinyl spray to paint the roll bar covers blue.

Installed JCR sliders. Put some step tape on them to make getting in and out a bit easier.

I got my jeep stuck in a rut. I have a 2" lift on it but my guess is the 31" tires were my downfall. The axles and everything were scrapping....yeah had to have my buddy come and pull me out.

Changed the water pump today. Its been weeping since I bought it a month ago. Its been 20 years since I worked on a vehicle with a motor driven fan. I had to run to Lowes for a strap wrench to get the water pump pulley off.

That job went well so I decide to throw in some new plugs in hope of clearing up a slight miss at idle. The old plugs might have been originals. The gaps had grown to around .080 on all of them. That did the trick. She idles smooth and runs much stronger now.

This tj has been easy to work on and now drives much better than it did a month ago when I bought it. Can't wait to put a quality spring lift and tires on it. Still have the brakes and a full fluids change to do first, though. This thing is going to drive as good or better than new when I'm done.

Fun in the sun and snow

Changed the oil and filter on Saturday and took the family out for a hike to Coal Lake off the Mt. Loop Highway in Washington. Ran into deep snow about a mile from the lake so had to turn around and go to another lake that was lower altitude. It was nice to get the jeep back on some dirt roads.

Yeah I had to take apart the switch and get down to the plastic pin that opens/closes the circuit when the switch is pulled or pushed in. Over time, the plastic melted, making it unable to lift the metal piece that closes the circuit, making it stay on all the time. After filing down the sides if the melted plastic, I took a rivet that fit snugly around the plastic pin and hammered the pin out. Then cut the piece of metal down enough so it would let the spring loaded metal piece touch both contacts and complete the circuit when the switch is pulled out.

I would have liked to do a write up, but I was using a friends grandfathers garage and didnt want to be annoying, taking pictures and all that.

I was thinking about doing that but it would annoy me that I would have a fog lamp switch which still does nothing on my multifunctional because of my OCD haha

Have not done the Anderson ferry yet. Took 52 out past New Richmond and took the ferry into Augusta ky and rode Route 8 back on the KY side.

Takes a few hours but a fun ride!

I did mine the other day following this write up. You can also fix your wipers while you have it apart if they are acting up. Just move the grease back over all the contacts in wiper switch. All works perfect now.

Very easy swap! The hoses still look good, I had already bought a new cap and filled with 50/50 Dexcool. Also changed out the belt while I had easy access. Found a Goodyear gatorback for around $20 on amazon.
