Big weekend...changed the front differential fluid, changed oil and discovered this little surprise that my PO left me...

For those of you who know this is the 4WD linkage, you also know it's supposed to be straight! Fortunately, not a hard fix. Just a bit of a shocker when I was driving and it completely fell apart and started banging around on top of the tranny...

BEFORE THE VICE...

AND AFTER...

Good Job, most people around here with 4 wd would either be at my door crying or at the dealer buying a new part

Ha! Thanks! I don't consider myself to be a "car guy" by any stretch...BUT - if you're gonna own a jeep, you gotta know at least a LITTLE bit...

I just looked up my Haynes book, found out what the part was & how it was supposed to fit, then figured out that it was bent to hell, then just tried to get it as straight as possible.

Jeeps are so easy to work on...it's hard NOT to fix stuff...

This may be out of the ordinary.

I used a live trap and sardines to catch the feral cat that has been sleeping in my Jeep at night. Now....no more cat hair or possible urine exposure on my beloved vehicle.

Hey man just FYI your flashlight holders are upside down. Velcro strap goes over the lens to hold it in place.

what difference do the fuel injectors make....? is that something that would increase performance on a 4.0...? never heard of anyone doing that before.

It replaced my jeep fuel injectors with MPI , multi port injectors. Our jeep ones are not. It makes the gas into a finer mist. Mine were leaking so they needed to be replaced. My jeep has much more power now. Has a smooth idle finally and my mpg increased. the rest of the mod is for the 2.5L

This definitely needs to be researched for 4.0s

My boyfriend said a MPI will benefit the 4.0 as well. We both have the 2.5l so we have done the TB and spacer too. He used mustang 5.0 injectors in his yj. Some newer jeeps can use neon injectors. Mine is a 97 and the vette injectors worked in mine. He did the research

A throttle body spacer will do nothing on a fuel injected engine though,. It's not starving for air at all.. So with that logic, the 4.0 throttle body is useless too on a 2.5

Hi Lift Add

Finally installed my hi lift jack. It's only been sitting in the garage for nearly a year.. 2 pieces of 3/16" band iron, thru in a couple 90 deg bends, and 4 drilled holes. Mounted using existing holes: rear door striker and rr roll bar anchor point on top of fender tub. Maybe $10 in materials, most I had laying around. I'll try it for this trip to see how it goes. May come back and modify it more then shoot some paint on it.

PS: Jack measure 55" and so just barely fits in that space...!

Installed the 703 injectors. Nice upgrade idle is better as well as throttle response. Not sure on mileage yet have not driven it enough to see a diff.

Go ahead and remove the rear jugs too, looks better without them. You can buy metal end caps to give it a finished look.
