too much. total after "labor" (for switching out the bell housing and sensors) and tax, it came to about $1300. this was my last option. but it had to be done. i just cant wait to take it for a drive and be able to put it in whichever gear i want without grinding. its worth it in the end.

Well, it's about 5 inches smaller than the tub of the jeep. Width wise.

I'd take those fender flares off and i think it would be a pretty good start to a home brute.

Plus, it was my great grandfathers. So it's free.

Well when something is free it means you're meant to own it. Please do it, and post pics

If you can weld you could spilt the bed and tailgate, add in about 5 inches and call it a day!

A lot lol...but in reality, for what i'm getting, not much at all.

With all parts and labor its going to run me just over $2,400 bucks out the door...

I've never welded in my life. It can't be too hard with practice.

Replaced blower motor resistor. My a/c now works on all settings rather than just high. It took a little longer than expected due to the awkwardness of its location, but it's a super easy fix, and only $20.

Installed csi home theatre speakers into my Jeep TJ sound bar. Now seeing if I can find an adapter for Polk audio speakers to fit my front pods. These Polk speakers are out of a Mustang. Yes I like to fab and mess with stuff. More fun than plug and play. Also installed an auto dim rear view mirror out of a Grand Cherokee too.
Along with my KCs now being re-wired. Had a good friend help me with it all, haha the speakers and rear view were his by the way.

I have been pulling out parts of my dash. I am painting the inside dash parts Black/Blue. I am posting on this thread I have gotten 7 pieces pulled out and painted. The hardest so far to remove is the passenger air bag cover. Besides 10-15 screws to remove, you have to first remove the grab bar which is held in by bolt/nuts then there are 2 10mm screw/nuts up near the top that you can only reach by going up from the bottom.

I have also been following a 'Lights Mod' thread. I have a Question for all. I discovered that I can't find my under dash lights/floorboard lights. I never saw any when I bought my jeep but it seams from everyone else that I should have some. Well I cant see any bulbs under there and dont see any sockets either. I am I crazy should they be there? Could the PO have removed them? if so why whould they? Maybe I have been breathing in too much paint fumes recently.

Open the door and see if there is light in the footwells. There are normally small plastic covers over the bulbs. These come off easily, then you just pull the bulb out and insert the LED. Do not re-install the covers.
