My 1st Jeep and I've only had it for 2 months. Finally got a weekend without the kid to take the Jon boat out. It's one of the main reason's I got a Jeep, I wanted something to tow the Jon boat and my Kayak.

I'm going to change my oil and I'm pumped!! Waiting for the engine to cool. Also new air filter. Anxiously waiting for my warn winch and long range KC lights to arrive. Yeeha!

Finally made a new set up to not hang my doors by the window frame after hearing about welds cracking. Put on my new to me rear bumper and rock sliders. Cleaned out the throttle body and ended up having to cut my own gasket for the IAC after the old one cracked to pieces. Blacked out my hella light covers since I didn't like the white. Made a license plate mount for my winch plate that hopefully will have a winch on it shortly. Added some USA flag decals.

New Overhead Console

Started this project a couple days ago with some crappy cell phone pics, but this is the final product. Really happy with it so far. Looks good and the smell of the cedar fence plank keeps the Jeep smelling nice too. Also found a way to carry my truck gun out of the way and easy to get to also.

You should look to see if you can't find a rifle clamp from an old Hummveee it would hold that rifle better than the bungy cord and fit perfect since that's an AR platform

Put the top back on and test fitted my $5 bike rack. Not exactly a perfect fit but it'll work.

Congrats and Welcome to the club. Don't worry about questions that's why we are here. All of us can remember our first jeep. I have only had mine 3 years but its an addiction it will get into your DNA and may spread to other family members or close friends. It will also cause your wallet to lose weight. But it sure is fun. Can make random drives for this or that more interesting. ENJOY & Welcome to the club

Yep, they are aluminum. All I did to prep was clean the heck out of them. I didn't have any wheel cleaner so I just used some alcohol based glass cleaner to get the grime off and then some water and elbow grease to ensure they were pretty clean and free of residue.

I ended up doing 4 coats, with 15-20 minutes between coats and 30-45 minutes to set for the last coat before I remounted them. The first coat was very light as the many YouTube videos suggested. I ended up using exactly 2 cans, but it would be safer to pick up a third if you are going to try it (I only did 4 wheels, my spare is a steely that I bed lined years ago). Don't believe the videos that this stuff easily comes off of tires though, it was a PIA to get all of it. I should have masked them, but you live and you learn.

Overall I am pretty pleased so far. The rock rash I had is virtually unnoticeable and the center caps were a mess before but the dip covered everything. It seems fairly sturdy, I had my tires rotated and balanced after I dipped them and they came through without a scratch (no idea why I didn't rotate and balance them first). I do a 5 tire rotation so they had to dismount the spare and another tire from the rims and swap them but like I said no scratches on that one either.

By the way, I got the dip at Home Depot for $5.98 a can. Not a bad improvement in look for a $12 investment in my opinion.
