My first motor Lastex 260k+. If I took better care of it I could have gotten more put of her. Still ran but I removed large amounts of piston skirt from the oil pan and it sounded pretty bad.
The one I had to replace was badly mistreated by the po. I don't think they believed in oil changes. I didn't even have it a year...every other jeep engine I have had was bulletproof.

I added links to photobucket. I hope they work. I took my windshield mounted lights off to get a new windshield installed. While I had them off, I took them apart and repainted them body color. Then I got inspired and took the cowl cover off, at least I think that's what it's called, and repainted it as well. A buffer from Sears and some Meguires compound put a good shine on it.

Those look great! What paint/prep did you use?

Wheeled the shit out of it.
Came back at night and got to run my ProComp S4 Explorer lights. Wow. They are the 4led with Spot pattern. Mounted on my bumper. Unreal light for the price. Eventually I'm gonna move them to the pillar and bumper mount flood pattern HID's. Either Hella Optilux 4" or ProComp Explorer 9". I'm liking this lighting stuff.

I was about to do an HID retrofit for the headlights, bi-xenon projector style...but I think I'm skipping that for now. I can get way more off-road lighting for the money.

...serviced my HiLift jack. Took apart all except for removing climbing pins and their cross pins. Cleaned, then used white lithium grease in all the prescribed spots. Also, took my Slime comp06 portable compressor and clipped the cig plug, wired in a 30A fuse, soldered connections, epoxied and heat shrunk. The compressor actually filled from 12-28 in 4:30 on the 4th wheel. Not bad actually. I'm getting an onboard in the next month, but this will be a good backup.

How do you like that mesh in it? I have the same thing w/ flairs to be installed. Unsure whether or not to put something behind there
I'm not a fan of it honestly. What I will probably do is cut a section out of what's left of my old fenders and use it to make an access panel that is bolted in place with some stainless Allen head bolts. Knock the mesh out and out the panel in its place.

Installed Currie HD Steering. Took way too long. I noticed a couple things:

Tie Rod sleeve clamps are a PITA. They only sit in one spot because of groove (groove for thru bolt). There should be a groove channel all the way around each end. Why, because if you get your toe perfect, you run a huge chance of clamp being in a position to hit something during ends of steering lock. I had to nut up the tie rod for toe adjustment, as it took me awhile to figure out the only way to free spin is to remove bolt, and free up the clamp. For $500 I want the ability to freely rotate the clamps. By some miracle, my steering wheel is centered so I don't need to mess with the drag link sleeve clamp. Which I assume has the same issue.

Steering stabilizer. Probably too short of a stroke. It pretty much bottoms out on right turn, Prob stretches too far on left turn. Silly.
