what is the high gear i can change on a 3.07 carrior

I may have to change gears in both of my diff. What i want to know is what gear can i put in my 3.07 carrior. Because i dont think they make a 3.07 gear for the dana30 anymore so what i want to do is go a gear higher for both. I dont care what gear i put i just want to get my diff fixed and not spend alot of money changing everything. I know i have to chang the bearing i already bought a master bearing kit for both diff i just need to buy the ring and pinion gears. Can somone help me with this and please dont tell me im better off getting a dana 44 i just want to use the carrior i have

Yes, you can still get a 3.07 gear set. The carrier break for your dana 30 is 3.54, so you can run the 3.07, 3.21 or 3.54 with your original carrier. If you're going to change one axle to a different ratio you'll need to change the other axle to match if planning on using 4 wheel drive.

If you are replacing the gears anyway, definitely get a lower ratio (higher numerically). What engine and tranny do you have and what tire size?

For 31's I'd maybe regear to 3.73's if you're already doing it. Unless you plan to go to 33's or 35's anytime soon you'll be perfect with that set up. And even with 33's, the 3.73 gears won't be bad.

You have to change gears in both axles. If you want to use 4wd that is. And even if you don't its just a good idea to swap both while you're at it.

I'm not sure about from the 3.07 if you have too. Never heard of anyone having to though.
Sorry. Maybe someone who has can tell you for sure. Just don't want to tell you wrong.

Uh, no. New carriers do not come with new ring gears. The ring gear and pinion gear are manufactured as a pair, you can't mix and match.
