What is this?

Does anybody know what this part is? I found it under the seat...and can't figure out where it goes!

Thanks!

it's a Flux Capacitor. It's used to adjust the space time continuum. Whatever you do, don't remove.....MEEP! MOP! MORK! BUZZ! BING! BING!

You touched the handle, Didn't you?

It looks to me like it's a place for a small fire extinguisher

Could be either one of the two previous posts but I'd lean toward the 2nd one myself.

Thought that at first too but then at a second look, it would not hold a fire extinguisher because of the mold of it.

Ya...it's pretty small too. It's sitting on top of my stool for the pic. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is! Maybe it was just in the jeep but doesn't belong to the jeep?
I just hate unsolved mysteries though...

Can you get a picture from a little further back or tell us the rough size of it? I'm guessing it is way smaller than it looks in the pic. Could be as simple as a seat cover clip!

Looks like it could hold a Mag Light or maybe a Salami.

I subb'd this thread (because i'm a jeep nerd) and it's evident that nobody knows what the actual intended use is for the part. So let's play a little game. How SHOULD knobbytrav use this part.

Mag lite and Salami are both solid. Let's get creative folks.

Clearly, this is a 30 lb dumbbell retaining clip. Nothing says American Bada#$ like doing a 1 arm bicep curl with the top down will traversing small boulders....

Maybe one day, you'll be able to take a picture of something, upload it to the internet, and somewhere in cyberspace, you'll get a response to what it is that you uploaded.

That would be cool.

My jack stores underneath the passenger seat. It doesn't have anything like that piece of plastic to hold it down.

In my case, you just collapse the jack, as far as it will go, then place it into the area shown in the picture. Once it's in place, using the supplied bungee, you secure it to the floorboard.

I don't have a clue, as to what that piece of plastic is.
Maybe it doesn't even belong to the Jeep.

Maybe the PO left it there, so that whoever bought the Jeep next would go around in circles, trying to figure out where it goes.

Doing a simple google image search using that image shows that it is clearly a ferret on a blanket...

I guess it's to big to put in the ash tray, that's where I put all the loose screws and what not I find on the floor

If it will still fit under the seat, I'd put it back and let the next owner figure it out.

Hard to tell how big those arcs are.
Depending on how small they are, this piece could be there to hold the tire jack. Look at the small diameter of my tire jack (post #18).

Dual dildo holder. Popular in the late 90s.

And it was under the seat that makes perfect sense!

If this is a dual dildo holder you need to call the PO up immediately....and ask for his wife!
you see what I did there? OH! ZINGER!

It's actually a cover that goes on the spreader bars of the roll cage between the windshield and the main hoop. It covers the foam under the padding that would be exposed behind where the door surround mounts.

I think it is a weight that goes at the bottom of a garbage bag, with the bag in the can. Keeps the bag from moving. Throw away with bag.
