What is this hole and how to plug it?

Pulled the carpet behind the drivers seat and found these holes. They aren't drain holes. The other side has some kind of painted patch over the holes.

What are these for and what do I need to plug them. After cleaning up the rust.

No worries.

I don't know what Chrysler was thinking when they put those in there, it takes a screwdriver and a hammer to get them out so they are semi-permanent but do need to be removed if your Jeep gets full of water.
Maybe when they were new they were easier to remove, one side has a horizontal tab and the other side has a bendy tab but even the newest TJ is almost 10 years old now.

Mine are still in, when I get around to painting the floor I'm going to replace them with the JK ones.

Which is some really skewed logic by the engineers because those locations are actually pretty good drain spots.

I use them as drain holes as well. They sit lower and it's where the water pools up. So I popped them out and also use the JK plugs that fit perfectly!

Well it looks like in about to have extra drain holes. I ordered some jk drain plugs. Guess I'm going to have I finally break down and do the tub. I think I am going to go with rattle can b/c it will make touch ups easier in the future. Really like the monstaliner though.

Is this the drain hole on a 2005? Seems a little high for it. If not, what is it for? Pulled up the carpet last night and noticed I could see the ground.
