I do NOT suggest flowmaster. I have flowmaster and it only rumbles at idle. Sounds very good at idle but not highway speed. Very annoying. Heard magnaflow was good.

But on the other hand I think my problem is when I got mu flowmaater put on they did put bigger pipes on like I thought they were. That might have something to do with it.

I bought the Dynomax cat back. Not loud at all, but just a low rumble. I can't tell the difference on the hiway. I can only hear it when going slow, or wheeling with the top off.

I just picked up a banks monster exhaust last week for my 06 X. Heard good things about it. Hoping it shows up this week so i can install it next weekend. They got some good deals on it if you shop around.

Which flowmaster product(s) are you running? I've got their HP-2 hotrod muffler on my TJ ('06 with 4.0L) and it sounds fine except for when decelerating at lower speeds/gears it has a rather poppy/raspy sound until I hit the gas again.

I went with the HP-2 because it is extremely un-restrictive and is smaller in size compared to traditional box-style mufflers, which helps minimize under carriage 'soft spots' for rocks to hit.

Dynomax has a $75 rebate on the cat back exhausts. Other than sound, are there any real benefits to a cat back exhaust?

I have a glasspack. Very good sounding, snorts along very well. And still seems to retain its torque very well for such a low back pressure.

Installed a $35 Thrush Welded muffler a week ago and love it. Super happy with the sound for the money.

Dynomax super turbo cat back. Fairly quiet, but sounds a lot better than the POS glass pack that was on it when I bought it.
