Okay, stupid chick here so spare me any wisecracks.
My 2002 TJ had a lift kit when purchased. Her control arm bushings are T-Rashed but no one can figure out which lift kit I have. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Yep, that's it. They are known for having a few bad batches of bushings. The problem may be finding replacements... They are still shut down and won't re-open until August (so they say). Maybe there is a vendor that has some in stock or some other company that makes a suitable replacement.
Idahonetto, I wanted to add one thing that I forgot to mention to you yesterday: The shocks are not from Rubicon Express, I would guess that they are made by Pro-comp if they have "Explorer" stamped on them.
Not sure about the shocks, most Rubicon shocks are silver. But, the springs, controll arms and the sway bar quick disconnects looks just like my Rubicon Express 4 1/2" lift. They may be somebody elses shocks with an RE kit.
The shocks are ProComp. I need 2 Large Builder Bushing Kits and all site that sell the Rubicon model are sold out and/or out of stock. Looking for similar manufactured by others but am having little luck.
ok - here's my quandary and I am somewhat apprehensive but I need new shocks - do I order a 2-2.5" lift or 3.5-5" lift shock? I am looking at some OME and want to order the right size so I am not sitting under the jeep with my thumb up my butt with the wrong stuff!
is there any way to tell?
I have a 2004 Rubicon running 255/85R16 BFG MT (old school) I am attaching a pic - hope that helps the Guru's here in helping me
ok, after searching online with minimal luck I decided to call and got the answer I have been looking for - I spoke with ProComp today and they advised that it's one of there's an ES3000 for a 4" lift
Manufacturer and designer of high performance, durable suspensions and shocks for the off-road enthusiast and off road racers. Including suspension systems, shock absorbers, lighting and accessories for trucks and SUVs. Pro Comp is located in San Diego, California.
I do have time on my hands or I am obsessed :thumb:
well the ProComp shocks ES3000 for a 4" lift are kaput so I priced out some replacements - Rancho, BDS, and OME... with all the shocks priced out the OME were at the top of the list - with a great reputation for quality and the difference being as little as $8 a shock it wasn't hard to figure which way to go. I picked up 2 cans of PB Blaster and will soak them tonight in preparation of the FUn coming :thumb: this should help the wobble and vibration shaking me to crap
so the results are in - the OME shocks rock :thumb:
