Banks and Borla here.

I like the Banks better, has a throatier sound and sounds more Jeepy than the Borla. Its not too loud and not too quiet, its just right. Makes me look really cool cruisin to Nordstroms. It sucks that i put a nice dent it a few months after i got it though. Those curbs at the mall are getting pretty tough.

I DON'T like it because:

1. the muffler has come apart internally and now rattles/screeches.

I've deleted the cat on my 97 4.0L. Put in a piece of pipe and did the spark plug non fouler trick. Flowmaster Super 44. It's pretty loud, but I love the sound. No check engine light either

Love it, lol... had Thush mufflers on my Big Block Chevelle years back... sounded like Steve McQueens Mustang in the movie Bullitt. Loved the sound then (loud without much drone) but since went to Flowmasters with resonators (more similar to stock exhaust setup), more quiet, no drone, and performs the same. I'm curious if there really is any benefit to a cat back exhaust on a 6cyl TJ motor, other than sound, without any other supporting mods?

Forgot to report back, got the MBRP installed and I freaking love it. Added a nice grumble to the exhaust note with little to no drone. For reference I went through 4 exhausts on a VW due to drone, drone and I are not friends. The MBRP is more than tolerable when it comes to drone, if its there I'm not hearing it.

I'm running the Borla cat-back. Very nice mellow sound and 0 drone. I'm happy with it.

Ahhh the often imitated but never duplicated Cherry Bomb glasspack. With the cat it's not a as loud as you'd think. Nice low rumble. Sounds sweet climbing a sand dune. I don't do a lot of highway driving so drone isn't an issue but it sounds good in the trails. PO had just the cat with tail out the back, now that was annoying. Maybe just me but it seems to have more power with the muffler than just the cat.

Truth here, I have no third cat and a magnaflow glasspack, its loud as hell. Dropping my Jeep off tonight to have a dynomax super turbo muffler installed in its place. I'll try to remember to get a vid of both.

Flowmaster super 44 offroad and no third cat on a 2006 4.0 TJ. Sounds like a sherman tank. but i like it, super 44 offroad muffler is heavy and diamond plate. It rusted fast on the surface. Re-painted with high heat black paint and its holding better.
