Question What next...

I have always been a huge Jeep fan. Always dreamed of what I would do to a Jeep when I got one. Finally about two months ago I got my first Jeep!! A yellow 2004 Wrangler. Right now I have a 3" body lift and a throttle body spacer. Exhaust and cold air intake are on the way! Eventually I will look into a suspension lift, of course bigger tires, winch and so much more. Unfortunately I am a broke college student so I am taking baby steps. I'm having trouble on deciding what to do next: Front bumper, light bar, fender flares, or seat covers. This is so I can start saving. I'm broke now because of the exhaust and cold air intake.

ditch the 3" BL. 1" -1.75" BL is ok, it makes the jeep top heavy and in my opinion looks like crap. if you are on a low budget go with a 2" BB and 1"-1.5" BL.

Thanks for the advice but i think I'll keep the BL. Too much money to just get rid of it. After I get the 33s the BL won't look that bad. It's a work in progress right now.

welcome to the forum, and congrats on the jeep. if it were me i'd get the tires next. also you gotta decide on what you want to do with the jeep. do you wanna ride some trails, or is it just gonna be a road driver.

i'm not gonna bash ya on the body lift, but further down the line you might wanna go w/ suspension lift.

put up some pics, we like pics.

so far i have found noone likes BL's. That's ok. it was a cheap way to get higher! Just trying to make room for bigger tires. I definitly want to ride some trails and do some muddin'. i will be getting a suspension lift down the road, i need to get out of college and get a real job first. hopefully i can get you some pics in the next day or two. thanks for the help!

When you upgrade the suspension just cut 2" off of the BL no worries. What are your final plans for the jeep? 33's ? 35's? Mud rocks road? Having a view of your finished Jeep will save you money and senceless back-tracking. BELIEVE me i know this! lol

very nice.

i'd do tires next.

and you don't have to listen to me, but i'd ditch those nerf bars, they make the body lift very obvious, and also they look like they mount to the body mounts, so if you snag one on a trail, you can tear up your body mounts.

Did you do the body lift yourself? What made you decide to go with the engine mods?

I will not bash you either because it is the cheapest way to lift the body.

In a wreck there is a greater chance of the bolts breaking for the body mounts, that is the worst part of the BL's. On the IFSJA.org there is a guy making lifts that utilize a Square tubing with two bolts, that way there is a LOT less stress on the body mount bolts. i do not konw if they can be made for wranglers or not tho. ill see if i can find the thread and post up a link.

i plan on going 1 inch body, just to make it easier to clean all the salt off of it in the winters, then the rest will be suspension, probably a 4 inch, that or the AEV highline body kit.

P.S.
Nice color, mine is the same, only it has a hardtop and is an 02

My brother in law and finace did the BL. The engine mods are really for gas mileage, but a little extra power is nice too
