A lot of the people around here have hard tops for some reason. I was stopped last night by a guy with his hard top on (me with no top on at all) who told me he wished his hard top was easier to remove. I told him to go soft.

After I bought my TJ was the first time I think I have ever heard that a woman prefers soft to hard!

About a month ago, I was coming from a jobsite for work through one of the sketchiest, roughest parts of Atlanta called "The Bluff" without doors or a top. Normally, I would have put them on to go through that neighborhood, but I didn't know I was going until last minute and didn't have time. Needless to say, I was a little nervous and kept having flashbacks of all the times I played a Grand Theft Auto video game and would throw someone from a "Mesa Grande" Jeep and shoot them so I could steel their ride.

I hit a red light and a couple of guys, who looked like they could have been in a gang, we're sitting on a bench at the corner about 5 feet away and where I can easily hear them. One says to the other: "You ever drive one of them?" and the other guy shook his head no. The first guy says: "I hear they go anywhere." Then he shouts to me: "Hey, you ever run from the police in that?"

I said "No, it can go anywhere but it ain't fast enough to run. Plus, it would run outta gas first."

Thankfully, the light soon turned green and I got through "the bluff" with topless and doorless, which I will try to avoid ever doing again.

The day I bought my Jeep, I went to go pick it up for the PO in a little town of like 1,500 people. Stop t gas her up for the ride home, and as I standing at the pump a guy walks up to me and:

"Isn't that the Jeep that's been sitting in that lot down there? The one that was for sale?"

"Yes sir, it is!" (While wearing a huge s*** eating grin on my face.

"What's the asking price on it and how many miles are on it? I've been looking for an older TJ."

"211,000... And... Um... It's no longer for sale."

"Ooooh... You just bought it? Congratulations! Enjoy your Jeep!"

And then be just walked away all sad like with his head down. Lol

So i pull in my driveway (edge of town) get on my bike and as im pulling out of my driveway the group of teenage boys i had just past all turn around. One said "!@#$%^ A" another one was like "That guy just switched his jeep for his bike didnt he"

When you and another guy have the same model at the same workplace but two totally different ones at the same time haha

Had one guy I knew and haven't seen in ages pass by my shop.
He stopped while I was out front by the other guys jeep and said"that's your badass jeep? The corolla on the side is bigger than that." So I just laughed as I point to the back behind the fence and see his face follow my finger and drop.

Don't have the heart to tell my jeep buddy at work the remark.

A lady at work said she went to look at a jeep just like mine. She wanted it BC it would be great on gas! I told her my 2003 tj gets 16mpg! She was shocked. I told her I didn't buy it for fuel economy!

Yeah its funny how people assume they get good milage. People say they have low power, are small, and are light, so people assume that means great milage. In reality these are pretty heavy, especially armored and set up like many of us have them, and have plenty of power with the 4.0. More torque than most cars and even some SUV's today...

One of my colleagues who is a major car chick (into beemers and such) told me I was a moron for getting a jeep. I have been approached many times by guys with, "You interested in selling that thing, man?" Stuff like that. My friends who had jeeps in their families as kids always look at mine and say, "I wish I still had that jeep." And people frequently tell me they like my jeep. I will never sell it.

My wife and I play for a living in a symphony orchestra. Because parking downtown at the concert hall is rather limited we frequently go in the jeep so we can wiggle into small spaces or up on the sidewalk and such. We will be wearing a tux and a black formal gown when we do this. Getting out at the gas station on the way is hilarious. People just stare at us like we have two heads or something...

You gotta tell us what instruments you play. (And I'm hoping you say tuba and cello, in which case we need pictures of you two in your formal wear with the two instruments strapped in the back.)
