So if this can be believed, you ASK her her opinion, she gives it and because you don't like it, you make a female walk home? Even if it's not true, the thought is pure douchebaggery. If my Dad found out I had done something like that, he'd whooped my a$$, then handed me to my mother who would have chewed my a$$ and they both would have taken me to that girls house to apologize in front of the whole family for being a ungentlemanly. You are what I have warned my girls about and kept them from dating thus far... And my middle, almost 20, loves her XJ....

Lol. Don't be so touchy. I'm now engaged to a girl who loves jeeps. And I never said how far she walked did I? I stretched the story to be funny, we were down the the street from her house when I asked, and she didn't want me in her drive way because of her parents at the time.

Calm down there guy.

Have a daughter. Wait 14 years or so, we'll see if it's still funny and if I'm 'touchy'. I reread your story. Nope, still not seeing the humor in treating a girl like that.

I'll go home and think long and hard about everything that was said, and realize that I still chuckle.

If I may add another perspective. While I agree that does seem to be ungentlemanly, the girl also is at fault. If someone offered you a ride home, you do not insult them. If I did that, my parents would chew me out. Its common courtesy. I am a 23 year old female and never have or ever would be that disrespectful. Be appreciative and polite to those who are helping you. There is and should not be any special treatment because you are female. We all deserve respect, if you are not respectful, then why should others treat you so? Coming from a female, it does not matter male or female, they were rude and disrespectful, they do not deserve anything.

People also deserve a fair account of the stories being told about them. This story has admittedly been exaggerated for the sake of misogynistic bravado.

So let me get this straight... Cause yer getting a ride home, you are asked a question, an OPINION, not a question. You should then lie. And I wouldn't say she was disrespectful at all. We are Jeep owners, we KNOW these things are slow! Didn't buy them for quarter mile times. But I get this a lot. I'm a vet, we speak our peace most times, don't pull punches. No need. Let's people know where you stand. No BS, no beating around the bush. I've owned some nice rides in my time. Owned some clunkers too. I've never been so into myself as to ask the passenger what they thought about. If its nice enough or they gave a damn about it, they'd bring it up, not me. But hey, maybe he didn't really bring it up, just added to enhance the punch line

I just bought my first TJ on Saturday (I've had a ZJ for a few years, and wanted to upgrade). I read this forum for about an hour on Saturday when I got home and started wondering, "When will I get a funny/stupid story about a Jeep?" Well it happened today, ironically at my university (supposedly a center for "higher learning").

It is Tuesday morning: I happened to strike up a conversation with a guy over breakfast, and the conversation steered to cars. I mentioned I had just bought my Jeep. He said he was a Jeep guy, and asked what I had. Said 97 TJ (to which I then added "Wrangler" after a few seconds of a blank stare). He said, "Oh, I've got one of those! It's an 87 with a 4.0 V6! That V6 is bulletproof!!"

Too much wrong to even begin, but thinking about it the one thing that sticks in my craw more than anything else....

V6

V6

V f-ing 6

Conversation died pretty quickly after that....

I went to the store in my jeep and when the guy parked next to me got out of his car he said “they still make those” I said yes and probably for a long time to come.

First Day owning a jeep and first question asked was "What's the gas mileage on those things?" I just smiled and said "dunno, you never worry about mileage when you buy a jeep"

I usually ask what do you think a brick gets? And tell them take a look at the shape, and make the outline with my hand!

I get asked "Do you own that Dune buggy out there?"
It's happened multiple times and I just look at them and say... No but I own that jeep out there.

I constantly have people ask me about the MPGs when im gassing up. Not because they are interested, they just want to say something about it. Ive gotten some rude comments so now my general response to "What kind of gas milage do you get" is "None of your f***ing buisness!". Unless I can tell they are curious because they like it - then I tell them 10mpg.

I also had some guy come up to me at the gas station, and say "You know, you would get better gas mileage if you put smaller tires on it".

I was on my was to work this evening and it had been snowing for a couple of hours already. The lady at the gas station asked if it was getting slick out on the roads. I replied "I don't know. I drive a jeep....". She acted like she understood and said "I guess u wouldn't be able to tell."

Someone asks about gas mileage. Answer is "Jeep doesn't offer that option."

That's how you know you've grown up. Your Legos have become Jeeps and ARs. Play with it, tear it apart, then put it back together the way you want it.

went to my local bar, started talking to the 2 really cute women. Pin pointed on the one I wanted. We talk and have a really good time. I get her number. Her friend got really drunk. She asked me if i could help her carry her friend out to her car. I get her in the car which happens to be parked right next to my jeep, I tell her to call me as i climb in. Her " OH MY GOD... YOU DRIVE A JEEP". I wink to her and say call me. She had a mini org and got in her car. She texted me 10 minutes later.

At work...

H2 owner: "who's jeep is that in the parking lot?"
Me: "mine, why do you ask?"
H2 owner: "my hummer can go anywhere your stupid jeep can go and look more pimp. The army uses it so it's good."
Me: "actually they use Humvees which is the first hummer but have some upgrades like stronger springs and tires."
H2 owner: "whatever"
Leaves the store...

Comes back in

H2 owner to my boss: "im stuck in a pot hole. Can you call AAA so they can pull me out"
Boss: "better idea" points to me.
Me: "looks like the jeep saves the H2 again"

Pulls it out. Guy doesn't say thanks. Just stands there on the phone. So I drive though the pot hole a few times with no problem. He flips me off.

Your definitely a better person than me. No way would I have done that after someone could be such an ass hole because they're vehicle is "better". When obviously nothing is better than a Jeep!

But the thing is, I could have done that but my boss was there but more impotently, I didn't want to give us Jeepers a bad name by being an asshole.

Agreed. Sometimes it just feels good helping someone out... while letting them eat a piece of humble pie. LOL
