What oils do you run?

I just got done with my break-in period with my new remanufactured 4.0. Now it's time to run the normal oil I'll be running for this engine's life span. I initially broke it in by running napa 5-w30 at 2k RPMs for 20 minutes. Then I put some castrol conventional 10-w30 in with Lucas break-in additive. Ran for 500 miles. Finally I put in straight castrol 10-w30 conventional for 2k miles.

I know I want to use full synthetic. Though I'm wondering what oils everyone runs. Conventional, synthetic? Any additive? Filter? Also, how often do you change your oil?

Trying to get an idea of what brand to run long-term. I was looking at royal purple, but at 10 bucks a quart, I'm looking at 60 bucks for a change. And right now my routine oil changes are every 3k miles which is roughly monthly. Other considerations I have are valvoline or Mobil-1.

I use whatever name brand conventional oil is on sale at the auto parts store. Pennzoil, valvoline, castrol, mobil...For filters I use either fram or purolator, doesn't really matter. I change my oil every 6 months (spring and fall), which is about 1k miles.

Not saying it is best or better, I run the one and only, Mobil 1, 10W30 HM and I have Valvoline full synthetic in my transmission and T case.

Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30. I tried Mobil 1 but got some lifter noise, back to Pennz Platinum and no noise. OTOH, I've got 165K for mileage.
Filter: Motorcraft FL-1A. I like the longer can, it's easier to take off and put on, and less expensive than the Mopar filter.
YMMV, and invariably will...

I just use whatever conventional oil the shop puts in every 3,000 miles ( 10W-30 ). The warranty on my rebuilt engine specifies oil changes every 3,000 miles, so synthetic would be expensive.

Surprised with how many people use pennzoil. I never had heard of people running it very much before, and it always seemed like sorta' the cheaper brand. I ran the high-milage conventional in my last 4.0 before it broke a skirt, however that was mainly because of the price point.

Mobil 5000 (10W-30) or Mobil 1 if you want syntetic. In my opinion these are the best, it's hard to beat Mobil

Valvoline VR1 20w-50, but the engine is modified a bit. Oil changes every spring/fall, I'm not putting 3k on it in between changes.

Mobil1 full synthetic 10w-30 with a bosch oil filter. This combo can be purchased at Walmart for a fraction of the cost of other stores. Change it every 5k, although I've owned the jeep since December and its not hit 3k miles on this oil yet, just a weekend vehicle.

I run mobil1 full in my 2007 350z, 2008 mazda 3i, and my jeep. I've had no issues with any of them and have no noise from them either.
