Question What should i do?

I just had my jeep lifted 4 inches about a month ago. I have the 1997 SE so i have the 4cyl. Im about to put a slip yoke elimantor and new CV driveshaft from tom woods. But i was wondering about swapping out my rear D35 to a D44. But i also wanted to regear the axle to get the power back. I could afford to regear by next summer but it would be next winter before i could get the D44.. Which way would be the best way to go with?

Save up and get the 44 with a re gear! If you don't in the end you will regret it!

I would agree to save up and do it all at once. Be aware that the Dana 44 is about 1" longer than the Dana 35. Talk to Tom and let him know of your plans and he will make a shaft for the Dana 44 length that will work perfectly on your Dana 35. He did this exact thing for me last month.

What would be better Dana 44 rear D30 in front or
D60 with D44 infront? Found this combo on Craigslist... Which is better since I have that four banger?

With 33,s dana 44,s front and rear would be plenty with that 4 cyl. and some low gears .They are right do it all at once.Even if you swap engines with 33 or 35s a good strong 44 set up should be perfect.

Agreed here but he was talking about doing an engine swap and runnin bigger tires in the future thats why theres a discussion

If over 35s and I6 go with d60/70or 14bolt rear and a d60 front if sticking to 35's max go with d44's

I'll switch front and rear for D44. I've found multiple front D44 around here but no rear D44 yet

Thats probably your best bet, Ive drug my 44 due to my 29's so just imagine how bad it would be with 33's and the huge pumpkin of a d60

It'll get rid of your c-clips so if you do break a shaft (less likely with chromo shafts) your wheel wont come off and you might be able to limp it home

The best thing to do is find a d44 on craigslist or ebay and save yourself a grand or more
