what should I do?

Ok, just bought this TJ stock 2.5, 5spd with air... Bought a RE 3.5 superflex, and ordered 33x12.50's BFG KM2's on 15X8's. Well, they show up yesterday except they are 35's. What do I do, add a 1in BL or send back the 35's and wait for 33's? (and save for 4.88's) Thanks for your opinions!

send the 35's back i say, because in order to fit them properly you're gonna need to change alot more things than just the supsension.
brake lines, drive shaft angle, drop the t case skid plate. It's alot more work and it's alot more expensive to put 35s on a jeep than 33s.

Do you have a D35 rear axle? With a D35 and a 4banger I'm afraid you might really hate 35's... till the axle breaks, then you'll hate them cause you can outrun it on foot.... But I could be wrong...

Congrats on the new Jeep, don't forget to wave...

Yup, its got a D35, I figured with the 2.5 I wouldn't have enough power to break it. : ) Long term I have a 350 and a 9" to put in just in case... but right now its my DD.

Dude you will need to regear for sure. Brake line, SYE, Drive shaft, Not to mention you are going to rub like a mother with just a 1" BL. Send them back and get 33's. I go everywhere people on 35's go and I don't have to worry about blowing up my rearend...as much.

The added cost of keeping the 35's outweigh the benifits 10 fold.

Are you going to regear the axles ($1200) when you do all of this at once? If not, wait and save some more to regear because the 4cyl just does not have the power to get tires that large rolling without some gears. But IMHO I would look into better axles before even regearing the stock ones. Look into some D44's with 5.13's and then you can run the 35's. The 4cyl TJ just isn't meant for anything over 32-33" tires without a lot of extra work.

You should be able to fit the 35s no problem with only 3.5 inches of lift. I have seen plenty of jeeps that way. Just adjust the bump stops correctly to avoid rubbing.

What gearing do you have right now? As stated, you are going to need to regear, but you said you have a 9", correct? If you do the work yourself, figure $500 + or - for the parts (gears and master install kit), or about $900-$1000 if you have a shop do it. If a shop does it, have them modify your 9" to fit your TJ while they're at it, but figure another few hundred.

What tires were they? If they are Mickey Thompson MTZ's I would be willing to buy one off of you

If you have 4.11's in the front you can find the ford 8.8 with 4.10's in it and not have to regear. Just throwin that out there.

Send em back or sell em. I know they'll look badass but you'd need a lot of extra work done. Take what everyone here has told you into mind. You can always get the 33s, wait and eventually get 35s

32's are more than enough to bend stock steering. Ask me how I know.

I'd love to tell you to keep them because I would. Especially if I'd paid for 33's. But the brakes and steering are going to be issues like the others have said. I noticed a bit of loss of braking power when I ran 35's on my YJ with stock brakes. I did have to make a emergency stop or two and the brakes didn't let me down but it was a close call. In the end it is your call but I would recommend you exchange em for 33's.

Just my two cents.

All that does is cripple the suspension's ability to flex, which is probably fine for mall crawlers. Doesn't address any of the other problems that arise when trying to install 35's on a 3.5" lifted 4 banger with little axles.

Not me, you really need to run nothing bigger than 33" tires with your Dana 35c rear axle.

You can keep the 15x8's and put 33's on them.
