What the F is this Harness?

While installing my Sirus Satellite radio I found this wire harness. It sits on top of the dash in front of the windshield. What is it and what does it do?

Awesome, so does my 04 sport have everything but the mirror? What would happen if I plugged it into the mirror that supports that function, would it work? Obviously it needs another wire to go from there to the mirror but how does the wire get to the mirror from the harness?

On a side note, when did that option become available?
Pretty sure it was not available for my '98.

It's under the plastic windshield trim. Should work just fine if you get all the parts, I believe many folks have added this.

2003, when the most changes occurred.

Thank you, I'm going to research this and I will report back. Do you know what all the parts are? The windshield trim above or below the windshield? The harness I posted the phot is below the windshield so how do I connect a mirror to that harness?

Daveys Jeeps gets them in on occasion, just installed one on our 05 LJ. Clips in, and then had a temp sensor at the front grill that gets installed. Real straightforward.
