What the heck is that!!!

So I walked outside and I saw this big (about 5 or 6 inches long) scratch down the side of my drivers door. And it is deep!!! Some parts are down to bare metal.

My question is how should I go about fixing this before it begins to rust?

Yikes!!!! Sounds like you've been 'key'd". What a crying shame. I am sure you will get better answers than mine but I would check it in the light of day to see if it got down to bare metal. I would probably hit it with some touch up paint too.
Finally...you might check with a used car dealership that deals in higher end cars to see if they can recommend someone to do some cosmetic repair to it.
Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

You could just buy a replacement door for a hell of a lot cheaper off of craigslist

Probably about $500 for the pair of full doors.

I've got some Sikkens in my blood...I also helped a good friend of mine launch a mobile paint operation...

What color is it?

You're going to need some supplies and I can guide you through it. A picture would help too.

You're going to need a couple of touch up brushes, and some other paint supplies that should cost you under $50.

I've healed key scratches almost the point where you can't see them.

Have faith!

Don't buy new door, respray will be a hell of a lot cheaper then a new door.
If you can see metal, you will need to cover it in order to stop it from rusting. If you want it to look less 'in your face' you can get a touch up pen from the stealership which would at least make the white line the same colour as your jeep.
