Jeep looks great man, really clean for a 200TJ, I just bought mine in October, and am looking to do the same, put it up in the air. have you ever heard of 4WD magazine? If you go to they're website you can request a free magazine, and it has all sorts of kits and tire-wheel combos for you to choose from. Most important, customize it to what you like! I say 6'' lift and 35'' tires, that's what i'm going for!

I have a 00tj myself. I would stay away from chrome wheels. I got mine and after 6yrs. they look like crap and can't wait to get rid of them. Do you plan on lifting you jeep when you get new tires? if not you can go up to 31's at stock height and no regearing. What kind of terrain do you play in? A good aggresive all terrain would be Goodyear wranglers w/kevlar, BFG km2 and Goodyear duratrac's all got good reviews from the off-road magazines. So what are your plans for your jeep? Knowing that will help with picking out tires. That's my 2 cents.

I am impatient! When I got my 04 X last year... I needed something FAST!!!

I found the spending a few hundred instead of a few thousand would satisfy my need for lift and tires for the time being while I saved and collected parts for the 4" lift. Here is my Jeep last summer... Rims look familiar? YEP!! stock and shot with Bedliner. 2" BB and 31's... total cost was $230 for rims and tires... Craigslist is my best friend.

That being said, a small lift of 2" and 31's would be perfect. No need for new rims yet.... as the 31's will look good with stockers. When you go bigger than that, you need new rims due to backspacing. The new rims will have a different offset to push the wheel out and clear bigger tires.

So.... the choice is yours.... a little lift now and save.... or dive into full bore WITH LOTS OF RESEARCH BEFORE ANY PURCHASES....

I just did the ultimate kit from Dirk at DPGOffroad.com for my TJ a couple of weeks ago. I love the lift and now roll with 33x12.5 wrangler duratracs - theyre also awesome. Couldnt be happier with the way it came out.

Technically you could run stock wheels with wheel spacers. I did that on my last one with 33s. Personally I like the stock look with bigger tires. But its a personal opinion. They are both fine whichever way you go
